Would I be okay if I washed my new sand out with tap water from the hose outside till its nice and clear and then dip it in a 5gal of rodi water?
I got some more fine sand so how should I prevent the sand from going everyore/ how should I wash it with tap water.

Use a bucket and a hose.

Update:
I got the tank this morning. Woo hoo.
I've got it plumbed, new rock, new sand in. I tested the bulkheads to make shure they don't leak.
I'm about to transfer some water over along with a few rocks. Then tommarow I will transfer fish, anenome and coral.

I'm just going to run a powerhead tonight. I'll add as much water as I can but it won't be completely filled.

This is all I'm doing for today. I'm almost put of salt so hopefully my tank has engough water to fill it all the way. If not I can always grab some from my 75 gal or go the 45 min drive to the lfs and get some more.
I added some rock without coral to the tank, also added 2 powerheads to keep it circulating.

and then for contrast heres sixty pages of successful tank transfers
I've always loved this right up. Though I vary on some of the smaller details, I think overall it's pretty close to perfect!

I have it bookmark and have referenced it many times to people.
Thanks again for taking the time to write it.

I've run into a bit of a issue.
I put some water in the overflow to make shure the bulkheads don't leak.(I think that's what they're called)
I found that the 2 non glued but threaded return lines are both leaking in the same place.
It's not coming from the glass kts coming from the white pvc that threads into the black pvc.
I can't tighten it because the pipes are glued.
Any solutions.
The return lines are the outer 2. The center are the drain.
You can kinda see the ring of water at the top. Luckily the water all falls into the sump.

Thank you all for the help.
The tank is now up and running. The fish are already out and alot of the corals have re-extended.
Water is still a Lil foggy but it will clear.
