To see if dosing provides any increased growth or more vibrant colors. I have a pretty decent idea on how fast my softies *zoo's/pallies/shrooms/rics* grow... so should be interesting.

Agreed! I have a friend that is dosing for that reason (5ppm should work for this) & he's thrilled with the results. Give it at least a month, before you decide.

cool, figure I'd take some pictures periodically through the dosing to try and detect any changes in color mostly, and then the growth should become apparent....just gotta be sure not to move the frags.

ok cool, so I have roughly 63g of water volume...probably slightly less. Gonna do 1 serving in the am and one in the pm, not decided on times yet. Hoping for the best.

still dosing.... I find I just dump the 1/4 teaspoon in the overflow box....gets mixed up in there and down the pipe...into one area of the sump....bubbles around, maybe goes through the skimmer some, through the fuge and back into the tank.

So far it looks like one of my hammers has some green that's slightly brighter.... might just be my old eyes...though it's something I wasn't looking at that caught my eye.

I thought the brighter colors were my imagination at 1st but when I saw the growth on my LPS, I was surprised. Other folks haved commented on the brighter color in my tank too.

make sure to use the 5 dollar off coupon code.... becacuse I didn't see it at first.

I am going to order and try this for my zoas, also.

Also, I'm doing slightly less than 5ppm... wondering what increasing the dose would be... I have roughly 59-64 gallons of system water and am dosing 1/4 teaspoon...which is about

Looks like I did some math...

Code:
gallons Variable ppm
50 1 5
51 1.02 4.901960784

Ok, got a new frag of zoos last week, and I hadn't been adding the C, so they started to melt, and when I started putting the C in, I've saved two! Dummy me! :)

Wonderful stories, I love it!

hardcz, I guess you must like math! I think you're being too exact though... Just start out w/a 1/4tsp & in a few days bump it up to 1/2. I'm using 1/2 on my 40g & it seems to be working well.

Ordered my Vitamin C last week and just got it this weekend. Thanks for the $5 coupon code. Can't wait to see the results.

I ordered the sodium ascorbate today. We have 210 mixed reef with a 50 gallon sump and a 15 gallon refugium. How much would I start out using and when should I increase the dose. Any help would be greatly appreciated

To keep things simple, I'd estimate your system to be ~200g (unless you have a nominal amount of rock). Follow the chart & start dosing at 5ppm & after 3 days double that & keep doubling every 3, until you see improvements or it gets to 50ppm.

pufferpunk,

I notice some of my zoas are healthier but some colonies (used to be healthy) are becoming skinny on the neck. What could be wrong? Is there any food that you supply your zoas?

My other LS are healthy and water para is within range.
