SCIENTIFIC NAME - Amblyeleotris randalli

COMMON NAME - Randall's Shrimp Goby

SIZE - 3.5" (9 cm)

MIN. AQUARIUM SIZE - 20 US Gal. (76 L)

FOODS AND FEEDING - Varied meaty diet of live and frozen foods for carnivores. Feed min. 2 times a day

REEF COMPATIBILITY - May be a threat to small ornamental shrimp, excellent reef fish

CAPTIVE CARE - May not feed for several days after introduced to the tank so give it a couple days to acclimate to the new surroundings and it should then start to feed, Can be kept with other shrimp gobies and may share a common burrow, as long as the aquarium is large enough more than one can be kept, males may quarrel without damage if the tank is too small, The fishes long spotted top fin is a target for tankmates that like to nip fins, keep in a peaceful community tank, a shrimp is not needed to be successful with this fish.

As you can see my Randall's Goby has put on some weight and grown since his last photos. He lives under an arch at the moment so I don't get to see him alot, nor does he like when I press my face against the glass to look at him.

I have recently added a Randall's goby and shrimp. The shrimp started burrowing right away and the goby was staying on the out side edges of the tank. The clown was keeping him out there away from the rocks. So I took the clown out and moved him to the other tank. I got the goby pushed close to the rocks and the hole of the shrimp. Woke up the next morning and no sign of the goby. I haven't seen him in about a week now I guess. But see the shrimp digging and he even comes out when I feed. Do you think the goby is just scared and not coming out at all?

Possible. Maybe try spot feeding the hole the shrimp is using as the goby may be inside.
