Hello Reefers!

No doubt you've all noticed Octo Aquatics generous giveaway for this month, so I thought that for ease of entry and so we can all actively discuss the equipment past the typical "I posted on facebook DONE!" point of conversation it would be nice to have a thread to not only serve as an official entry, but to also discuss the pros and cons of Octo Aquatics products.

Personally, my favorite are the Octo Lids.

I'm in the middle of setting up a Red Sea Reefer 250 and as a cat owner and somebody who happens to love fish that also happen to have a reputation for jumping (looking at you Dartfish), I've had my eye out for a lid that would both fit a rsr250 AND not take away from the beautiful rimless beveled glass design. I think an Octo Lid will be my #1 pick for this purpose.

What do you all think? And what is your favorite item from Octo Aquatics?

I've got two different lids from Octo (on a 60 cube and Reefer 750xxl). I can tell you that both came well packaged, and well made (I've had the smaller one for over a year now). In fact, I liked Matt's stuff so much that I've gotten an acclimation box, as well as a probe holder from him. I'm currently contemplating a frag rack and skimmer stand. Buy with confidence. He's responsive and will take care of any issues that come up.

I’ve never had any Octo products. Recently I’ve been having trouble with my alk tubing staying in place and that holder looks mighty nice. I think that would be my favorite product currently since I’m in need of something to help me manage the tubes.

Everything for my setup is in planning stages at the moment, but I definitely was looking at those drip tube holders. I think the quality justifies the price quite a bit.

My Copper Band is looking skinny . I thinkit's because of competition with the other fish.
I'd like try the Octo feeder . Hopefully it will slow down the amount instead of all at once & gobbled up by the other fish

We have several things from OctoAquatics. I can tell you his custom orders for nano tanks are awesome! Every single thing we have gotten for both tanks have been very well made and beautiful.

Have you gotten one of their lids? I would love to see pictures of one in use!
I love that they offer free cutouts so if you have, for example, an A series mounting arm for a kessil AP700 they'll cut out EXACTLY how much space the clamps need at no extra charge.

I have the heater holder and adjustable skimmer stand.

Super great guy to work with and his products are top notch. AND he stands by his work.

If I am in the market for something and he makes it, I will buy it from him with no regrets.

I hadn't seen the skimmer stand. Thats a pretty slick design. Is it adjusted by that single wing-nut or are there multiple holding the stand at that level?

There are 4 wing nuts. There is the base that the skimmer rests on, and 2 slotted end pieces. 2 wing nuts on each end.

I provided the base size I wanted and the range of adjustability which is 1 to 3 inches.

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any other questions.

Thank you for your contribution to the hobby! When you see an order pop up in a month for a reefer 250 lid with two Kessil A series arm holes and access door, its me! I've proudly added your product to my build thread and budget.

Thanks!
