Hi All
I have a 2 year old 425XL SPS dominant tank.
I currently use 16.8mL of Calc (RedSea Foundation) and 96mL of Alk (RHF's SodaAsh recipe) daily.
PH runs from between 7.97 to 8.18.
I want to increase PH to boost growth, so want to dose Kalk at night (and day if needed).
My question is...
So it's time to replenish my RHF 2-part solutions... I cook my new batch of baking soda, mix up the solution and am ready to refill my reservoirs. The new mixture is not going to be EXACTLY the same strength as my previous batch (human error, precision, etc) although it will be close. My...
Hello all.
I run the controlled dosing for my 2-part and I see that DOS & Trident do not dose equal amounts of the ESV-Bionic 2 part. I wonder if this is a common thing or if you guys have it dosing the same each day? I mean, I do not see how could we make it dose the same as the dosage is...
I've been dosing Brightwell Aquatics Reef Code A & B for about a week now. Learned that I need to dial up my dose but also wanted to bring my Calcium and Alkalinity up generally, and in reading the advanced instructions I'm a bit confused.
Reef Code A (Calcium) instructions read:
"If the...
Hey Reefers!
Today we've got a quick fix to changing over from dosing 2-part to your tank to running a full Calcium Reactor setup.
Through the help of Jdieck's Calcium Reactor Calculator Ryan explains how to test your effluent, input the data into the calculator and dial in your dose to...
so I am getting more serious about my testing/dosing regime. I was using Ocean's Blend 2 part and I was reading about Randy's 2 different recipes and decided to by the BRS 2 part supplies because Randy mentioned in other posts that they use his recipe.
I planned to use recipe 2 because I am...
There are many different ions in seawater, and as reef aquarists we generally only test for a small number of these. Calcium, magnesium, “alkalinity”, nitrate, phosphate, and ammonia, for example, are relatively easy for hobbyists to test at home using kits. Other ions, however, are more...
There is no aspect of reef aquarium chemistry more important than calcium and alkalinity. Many of my previous articles have described various aspects of these systems in detail. In reading those articles, aquarists will note one pervasive theme: that maintaining appropriate levels of each are...
