hermit crab shells

Hi. I'm struggling to find info on this. There's loads of where to buy shells, but I can't seem to find any on cleaning ones you have to make them aquarium safe. Anything special I have to do, or is a good scrub in RO enough? Thanks.

Hi all, I recently bought some more shells for my red legged hermit crabs off of Amazon. Do I need to clean/dip these shells in any way before putting them into my display tank? I’m still new to the hobby so I apologize if this is an obvious question.
