Hello everyone,

First post - looking for some advice/help identifying what this growth is on my hermit crabs shell.

It looks kind of coral like and has grown considerably in the last few days. It appears to move slowly in the current and and has little hairy ends that move and retract as well.

Thanks in advance for any help!

i'm fairly certain its a soft coral of sorts. i'd wait to see if anyone else chimes in. in the meanwhile, its a good thing you don't have fish or corals. so you can continue to monitor it for growth patterns for a better ID

Thanks for your help, hopefully it is something like that. Will monitor incase it develops into something more sinister
