So I noticed this blue squishy substance attached to the bottom half of my snail’s shell. The top is covered in coraline algae. After researching for quite a bit, I am now convinced that it may be some sort of blue sponge.. maybe a plated blue sponge ? Anyone have a clue?

It's been a couple of weeks since I purchased these 2 trochus snails for my 10 gallon tank, and they've cleaned all the algae that I can see. Will they starve? If so, what should I supplement their diet with?

My trochus snails are spawning and some other forum posts show hundreds of tiny, baby snails, occasionally clogging up some equipment. Is there anything I could do to prevent this from happening? I have some small blue banded hermit crabs but I'm not sure if they can get many of them.
