Before joining this online community I would look something up online and would read a thread and remember some of your posts. I am sorry to hear about your current situation and will keep you in my prayers

Hello all!
Please forgive my sudden absence.
Many that know me know I’m not one to talk about my self or problems. So recent challenges overwhelmed me very quickly.

I’ve not mentioned it, but for about a year or so, my health has been in decline. Shortly before I “fell down “ here , treatments got pretty aggressive. Medication changes and additions made it tougher to just reply to a thread much less give good info.
Add that to my spell check sabotaging me , it was a pretty tough time.

(Great , talking about me I don’t know what to say , got algae?)
Lol

There was a snafu with a med last year that severely effected my memory centers. Making it difficult to function and focus. During that year it was my pleasure and joy to have the kind folks here at R2r to keep me company and keep my thoughts focused on better things than ilness.
As most who’ve had longer term health probs know , it becomes a full time job to stay above water every day and to keep moving forward with positivety and of course, patience.
Being chronically ill for a length of time impacts all aspects of life. And it takes its toll. Probably on sense of humor first. Lol.
Every thing else is like watching a tank crash in slow motion over weeks.

On the positive side , after some serious bad advice (ok bad doctors) I took some good advice and have assembled a team of supermodels, so skilled in their craft , honest in thier opinion , and free in their willingness to tell me when I’m being done, I be actually come a very very long way in my recovery.
I got stupidly lucky to have them on board , and more specialists are being added to the crew.

Well, that was pretty uncomfortable talking about just me.
Who’s got some GHA and low Po4?

I was messaged on FB a good kind friend and reminded me , I have people who care that would like to know I’m ok. 25 pms 750 new messages , a thread , what happend to salty.
(I’m crying, yes.)

Well folks , thank you. Those thoughts and prayers hit hard and hit home and quite frankly I’m not used to acts of kindness , well, only when they are aimed at me.

I’ll do my best to stay in the board a bit more and hang with my friends. You’ve been good company this long and it’s been very good for me I n aspects that have little to do with a box of water for quite some time.

Bear with me as I may be a bit slow on the uptake and can’t remeber how to make a PBJ some days.
But in the words of my supermodel in charge of therapy ,”if you like it , it would be pretty stupid to not keep doing it Jason. “

Thank you.
Welcome back! Wish you best in your recovery <3

Funny that this thread would show some activity now. I was just thinking about Salty the other day... something I read in a thread reminded me of his advice on refugiums.

Hope he is okay.

Welcome back Salty.

Good to see a familiar name. You were always a big help to me on my last reefing adventure.

I have been away also and am starting to scan reef2reef pages.

Ordered my new RS peninsula 650 today.

Let the fun begin.
