Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
yes. I just wish I got a quieter pump. With the waste container you could really let it run for a couple months. Only thing I don't like is that they didn't make it easy for me to use out of sump. I'd have to make an adaptor for the output to get it over the side.

I got a nice DC pump I'm gonna be selling but I think you could run 8 of those on it :grinning-face-with-sweat:

I have a few of each, and I got 2 conchs. Probably will order more though. What's a good number for a 120g though? :thinking-face:
I wouldn't get more conchs. but Cerith you could probably get like 20 easy. are your pods producing? could always add more of those.

I have 2 tiger conch, 1 sanbed star, 4 nassarius in my tank and is smaller

Thanks, I do have the Aqua Illumination one as a backup. was using that for water changes then it became easier to just use a pitcher. easier to get exact in and out and easier on the back lifting.

I have 4 nassarius. I should get like...8 more?
yes. personally I bought a big supply from Reef Cleaners. I like their Tongan ones. I was trying to get variety too. I also like the blue porcelain crabs. they sit there and filter the water with their fans. Just wait till it gets warmer.

I was thinking of placing an order. I got a small cuc package back in June I think but it was for like 40g or something

@tbrown I don't remember what time it is there, but have you already been to the vet with the puppy? What did they say?
I was going to ask but went scrolling to see if I just missed it

My project today: First off, was looking to purchase some 3030 extruded aluminum for my light mount. I had 16 feet of 20 mmm from another project left over. I decided to see if its capable of holding the light.

I cut the extruded and used the basic corner braces that I had on hand, then hung a 5 lb weight from each.
was very pleased with the minimal deflection. the 10 lb total is 3 lbs more than the light. I will fabricate better corner braces next week. Height and reach over the tank is adjustable

This is truly impressive!
People who know how to do this I have tremendous respect for.
I cannot fabricate/design anything.
Very Very cool.

I want one of the sicce utility pumps but don't want to spend 100$ on it... might actually use the one I was gonna sell but seems a waste as it's such a big DC pump with a controller (maxpect jump 10k)

Did it come black or did you paint it? I like that look a lot and hope i win an orphek so I only have 2 buy one more and do my 2 black boxes and 2 orpheks

Try 2 more, 2 more conch and begin with one sanbed star
Is that different than a "sand shifting sea star"? Because I heard they usually start if it's not a mature sanded and I started with dry everything so there's not a lot for it to eat

I mean that one but I'm not good with names lol, in my case I set up this tank with new sand and there it is, but I bought another one and it died on me
