I'd avoid discosoma, personally. They seem to really spread quickly and thoroughly throughout your tank. I have nothing but good things to say about my collection of rhodactis. They're so hardy and I love their colors and crazy alien attitude. And yeah, gotta pay up for scolys, but if you're patient and shop around, you can run across something nice.

Agree on the rhodactis, they don't multiply as quick, have beautiful colors and a very hardy.

I appreciate that John! There weren't many IPAs in the Dominican, but that had a local beer called Presidente that was pretty good. I mainly drank Dominican dark rum and a mixer, usually ice...lol...or a splash of their homemade "fruit mix juice" which was guava, papaya, pineapple and something I can't pronounce nor spell.

Welcome back my man!! It sounds like you made the best of it! Local rum in the Dominican sounds great.

I'll have to look for some rhodactis mushrooms then! I would love a war paint scoly but man, they are $$$$$

I cannot confirm nor deny, but some macro algae may or may not have made the trip home!

The orange fuzzy looking one is really that orange. I found everything in the surf!

Started with 2 about a year and a half ago.
Probably have 30 now.
They do spread but they are rather pretty, provide good coverage and are great filter feeders.
Way better than gsp and xenia, and don't grow as fast.
Hardy too.

I’m going to go out on a limb and confirm that the macro algae made it home with you!

They do, instructions say to put them close but not on aptasia because aptasia will eat them.

I don't remember that part. but remember it took a really long time for them to crawl out of the container. I put mine each near a aiptasia. but then read later that they recommend to put the berghia all in the same spot to start breeding. but it still worked for me. don't have a problem with the big tank. had a couple early on but was easy to eliminate.

I just need some really low light, low maintenance corals. I might stuff some rocks under my right hand structure to create extra surface area and more hiding spaces

Blastos are extremely low light corals , the one directly under my monti has been shaded for years.
