What’s going on with this leather? It’s got holes in it

The way that hole looks with no 'flesh' around it makes me wonder if that part was damaged somehow and the leather just "sloughed" that piece.

I'm building a led t5 hybrid mounting bracket. Got it all welded up now i'm modifying a 4x2 t5 into 2 2 bulb fixtures lol. Ultra low budget as im building it for 2 viparspectra which i will replace someday but cant budget the lights I want currently lol that said, materials and all it probably didnt save me any money making my own, but the vipars like to be mounted high and this gets my viparspectra higher and my t5's lower

Good call on the PAR reading, at least to get a baseline.
Kessils are nice lights, you just need more than you think to get the coverage. I'm running two Kessil a360x on the 40 breeder temporary tank. It's 3 feet, if it were a 4 foot tank, I'd have three over it just to reduce on some of the shadowing since they are more of a point source light.

This has been my point all along, no matter how "good" a light is, that doesn't mean a thing if it's not covering the area

If you had the possibility to do a par reading it would be great and that way you would clear up any doubts. I have always heard good things about Kessils.

I mean I enjoyed them. Easy to control etc but they wont give me the big coral growth. Leather has been the same for months now. This summer I'm gonna save for a cheap dosing system (one pump only) and dose reef elixir daily.

@Rocks reef Keith I'm sending another culture Wednesday or Thursday on my off days. I added some water to bring most of the worms to the top, so I could collect them. Im sure the last worms died bc of the delayed shipping, but I can't figure why there was no sign of them at all. Ill just double them up this time

I mean your right. However I am personally tired of the Kessils getting in the way when I come to clean. There effective coverage range is 15x15, reefLED 90s effective range is 25x25. Two of them gives 50x50 will will exceed the tank by two inches.

That's the main reason I went with a Meridian 35 for the new build and the fact that Kessil is pretty weak on the UV side of the spectrum. Don't get me wrong, I love the Kessils, I just didn't want to buy 2 more for the new build. I know I'd have saved a little bit of money, but that would be four plugs for the Kessils versus one plug for the Meridian.

Oh, yeah. Good morning John. No worms that I can see. I've changed the bread out twice, even put yogurt on it. I ran out of unicorn tears and fairy dust or I'd have tried that too
