Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I mean I enjoyed them. Easy to control etc but they wont give me the big coral growth. Leather has been the same for months now. This summer I'm gonna save for a cheap dosing system (one pump only) and dose reef elixir daily.
You are using the 160s. For the depth of your tank, they (LFS) should have recommended the a360x.

@Rocks reef Keith I'm sending another culture Wednesday or Thursday on my off days. I added some water to bring most of the worms to the top, so I could collect them. Im sure the last worms died bc of the delayed shipping, but I can't figure why there was no sign of them at all. Ill just double them up this time
I appreciate that man, I truly do. The wife keeps looking in the container and asking "what am I looking for"? Goes right along with "You bought f***ing worms!"... LOL

What I mean by taking a par reading is to clear up any doubts about whether it's the power of the lights, because it could easily be flow, some parameter... My leather coral has grown quite a bit, but that has happened to it in the past.
You are correct Luis. Though, on the depth of his tank, the Kessil 160s aren't pushing enough PAR to the bottom of the tank. If he had everything in the top half of the tank, I'd be ok.

I mean your right. However I am personally tired of the Kessils getting in the way when I come to clean. There effective coverage range is 15x15, reefLED 90s effective range is 25x25. Two of them gives 50x50 will will exceed the tank by two inches.
How are they mounted that they get in the way? I have the arm mounts mounted to the back rim of the tank and I have no issue doing anything in the tank. My lights sit 8" off the water too.

ah im sorry joel. i dont even want to say how much money ive dumped into berghia. they never worked for me. and i did everything people told me. if you arent too worried about the coral, have you thought about a kleini butterfly?
Thanks Jill I have but wife says no more fish:crying-face:

Joel,
Why not try a white spotted filefish?
I have thought of that Camden but just too passive for what I've got going on in my tank.

Morning y'all!
It's Monday...
Be safe out there today!

When did you go to Montery Bay? Its the top aquarium I wanna visit.

I appreciate that man, I truly do. The wife keeps looking in the container and asking "what am I looking for"? Goes right along with "You bought f***ing worms!"... LOL
Lol, They were free. Or is it the critters, and not the cost?

That's the main reason I went with a Meridian 35 for the new build and the fact that Kessil is pretty weak on the UV side of the spectrum. Don't get me wrong, I love the Kessils, I just didn't want to buy 2 more for the new build. I know I'd have saved a little bit of money, but that would be four plugs for the Kessils versus one plug for the Meridian.
Im think the meridian is a fantastic lighting system. If I don't go with radion again on my new build, id definitely pick the meridian.

Good morning everyone, yesterday Jason told me to lie down with him until he fall asleep and I think I fell asleep first hahaha

Good morning Luis, it just keeps getting more and more amazing!

The way that hole looks with no 'flesh' around it makes me wonder if that part was damaged somehow and the leather just "sloughed" that piece.
Maybe I’m not sure

She thought I bought them and then I explained that it was more of a "trade" thing.
