Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Yes Star Trek Ii and there was an episode of Star Trek called the “The Wrath of Kevin .” It was filmed in the 60’s and the actor Ricardo Montalban played Kevin.
That guy was rad and had great hair but you were WAY better looking than that guy.
Do you have an accent like that?
That would be the bomb!

Ok I wasn't sure. They also have small wedge pieces of a brownish color Montipora for $25 the widest part is maybe an inch.
I could be wrong but a brown monti doesn’t sound healthy to me.

Unfortunately no, my voice is more like his coactor on Fantasy Island, da plane da plane!

Just for you Joel!!
Awesome!
Made my whole month seeing you all done up in Dodger Blue. :smiling-face-with-smiling-eyes:

A red Montipora Capricornis would be ok potentially. It's one of the easier Montis, probably the easiest hard coral. Red is fairly common and people frequently give them away free or sell for like $5-$10 a frag.

Do they grow fast? Just wondering how long it would take to grow one as awesome as the one in the reef of the month.

That one has been growing for years I would imagine. Mine has been in the tank for about a year and it has grown from an inch square to 3 small plates about 3"*2" - total about 6" x 2" or so. Still fairly decent growth rate. One of the faster growing corals in a lot of tanks and they plate outward and start shading beneath them and then encrusting upwards and plating out there as well.

I can't unfortunately... I put it in a corner! I know, I know... Nobody puts baby in the corner.

It's behind and under the Stylophora (broccoli looking coral). I won't be home before lights out tonight or tomorrow likely otherwise I'd try to get a top down.

Its the color of this one...

If you can hold off, I’ll give you a frag of mine when you get here for March Madness. PS that is not brown and it looks healthy.

I really don't think I'm going to be able to make it for March Madness. But yours is lovely!

They grow fast, I have fragged mine twice and it needs it again. This is what it looked like when I first got it.

I've got a piece of red monti cap in my tank that's about 2x2"; was given to me for free. It hasn't grown yet but I haven't killed it in a new tank ha. I also have a hammer and two torches that are doing well; $25 per head is a good price in a store if healthy.

Also, I apparently missed a notification from last night so didn't get anymore. I've been busy at work coming back from a couple of days off and just looked and was surprised to not see any updates. Oh there it is, I've missed 6 pages... :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Most of the frags at my local LFS are from the owners personal tank so that makes me trust it a bit more.
