It hasn't gotten too big yet but it's certainly growing fast!

I'll throw one more out there, also 1968. When I went to the Cream concert here was their opening group:

Well snap, it wouldn't link, trying again from a different site.

Things were moving pretty fast then.

Similar theme just three years later. Another favorite group:

Absolutely, great point! The times were changing and it was more evident in music than almost anything. People give black sabbath all the credit for being the first heavy metal band, and that may be the case, but Deep Purple were the original riff monsters. Im giving them at least a little credit for helping usher in that era and genre

How unbelievable to have seen these two bands. I mean Cream only lasted, what 2 or 3 years?

I think it was about two and a half years, 1966-1968.

The unbelievable part was in 69 I was talking to the girl next door while she was serving lunches at Woolworth's. She asked me to take her to a festival the next weekend in NY. I had too much work to do so I turned her down. To this day I don't know if I'm glad or sad that I blew off Woodstock. She was never quite the same after that so maybe?

Wow....
Yeah it sounds like you two were headed down different paths in life. I wouldve loved to have witnessed that amazing show, but it certainly seemed like there was some discomfort . Of course you ended up with a really cool story anyways!
