Friends…. I am loosing the aiptasia war I feel so defeated I have thrown everything at them F-aiptasia,joes juice,elimi-aiptasia,5 berg nudis and a peppermint shrimp

The chemical options worked for a week or so but they all eventually came back stronger the nudis got everything on the sand bed but I think my 6 line eventually got to them and the peppermint shrimp never touched them I’m out of options idk what else to do

Sorry to hear this, Joel is going through the same thing at the moment. Have you looked into the fish options?

I have personally not tried those I’ve had success with Berghia and peppermint shrimp. I know there is a blue head butterfly fish, file fish, CBB and an Australian stripey. Perhaps start a thread to get more eyes on it with people with experience?

unfortunately, I am getting bubble algae all of the sudden. been fine for 2 years but then the past month or so it started growing. had to have been on a coral since I never dump anyone else's water in the tank. but could have been in someones copepod mix?

only thing so far ( fingers crossed) that I have delt with is vermited snails. I get one every now and then that I can see. They are no were near as bad aptasia or bubble algae

I plan to order a few pitho crabs. just need to plan it better for delivery.

well, since this is day 4 of my vacation (staying home) the only thing I can really say I accomplished today is......
drum roll.....added a $9 light to my sump area

We're all bound to get something eventually. I got bubble algae, aptasia and some vermatids. If thats the worst of it, i'm good with it lol

I heard file fish eventually do munch on corals. Sps or LPS I cant say for sure. Copperband butterflies are hit or miss but if you put the effort into training them to feed, I hear you can kinda coax them onto aptasia as well. Stick them in a 20g tank with live rock covered in aptasia and teach them to eat frozen mysis. While they learn to eat, they pick at aptasia as well.

According to the doc I'm in really good shape, the procedure went textbook. Doc's happy. I'll know better in a few days. As meds wear off new aches appear. Main thing is I've got three new implants complete with their warranty cards for my wallet. I have two aneurisms, one in the lower Aorta which was still pretty small and a large on on my Interior Iliac. They put in a coil and two stents. Main thing is looks like I'll still be here to care for my family.

Yea that was @Fish Styx im pretty sure. I cant attest to a stripey, as I have little to zero knowledge besides they are reef safe and eat aptasia. I have no clue if they get big, are aggressive, or anything else about them.
