Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Everything comes with chips and salsa.
Tacos, corned beef, pasta, cereal, bacon and eggs, Chinese food....;)
I mean, if you think about it, what is pizza? Baked chips and salsa... Tomatoes, onions, and spices make pizza sauce - add some chilies or jalapenos and you've got a spicy salsa. Pizza dough is almost similar to chips, especially flour tortilla chips. Add cheese and you've got nachos, add meat and you've got better nachos.

Math and science basically says pizza == Italian nachos.
There is nothing.
I mean nothing.
That can’t be turned into a taco.
Period.

@aquamedic305
Here are some lame pictures of my overflow.

When you do the siphon you stick the airline almost to the middle of the tube, fold it and jam it in there. You're going to drink some saltwater. Just gargle. ;) Make sure that there's water on each side and leave the airline in.

Here's my little box.
It's only a nano box.
I've got one pump running both boxes.
It's going full boar valved at 200 gph and I don't touch it.

The big one is running full no valve at 250 or so. If I drop below that it's not happy.

Learned that so I just crank on the pump till the inside box is half way.
Now, no issues even had mangroves in there for a while.
Don't know if that helps AT ALL but I'm mediocre at best most of the time in my explanations.
Please don't ask me how to cook.
I'm a show not tell kinda dude. ;)

I top off in the return section with an ATO or I pour it into the filter socks if I'm adding more than ATO.
thats what I ended up doing tonight! just went out and bought a 20G quarantine tank. getting close to buying first round of livestock.

Wow, that’s fantastic!!! Any pics of the celebration?
I got a video of us soaking the coach but it won’t let me post it

also, how does everyone top off? do you top off into your sumps or into DT?
Ive noticed that my return pump section does fluctuate. should I top off here?

top of duct tape is my measuring point for now lol

I add to my sump mostly because it's easier my tank is tall and I have to get on a step stool to reach the top to open the lids to pour water in.

@Reef Devils hey Parker, I bet you never thought that starting a reefing hobby and joining a reefing community blog, that you’d inherit an entire “virtual” family, sitting on the bleachers, cheering you on?!?
I know it’s crazy. I never thought I would get this close to people over an app. You all are great and wouldn’t be where I am without you. Especially a big thanks to @00W.
Idk I he remembers the first time we met on R2R but I do.

I will always remember that and I still have all of our messages saved. :smiling-face-with-smiling-eyes:
You have come a long way and I'm very proud of you.

I'm off to bed it's been a roller coaster of emotions today and I'm exhausted. I was so happy to see my son today but then so sad to have to let him go again knowing I won't see him until he gets back from being deployed so probably about 8 months. I hope everyone had a great day and thanks again for all the help and support.

Good night Amanda!
You're awesome!

It been a really busy weekend and I haven’t had much time to tell y’all what’s been going on. The Flux RX hasn’t done anything yet. I did a lot of manual removal of GHA and it’s looking a little better lol, still so much.
In the little tank the anemones were looking really bad so I moved them to the big tank today. There mouths have been wide open but the body is deflated. I think they were pooping but they still have them open. One of them lost a few tenticals and pieces of it were falling off. It’s still alive and moving around so I will keep it in the tank for now. It keeps going upside down for some reason. I hope they make it.

I hope they do too. :smiling-face-with-smiling-eyes:
They are funny creatures I've yet to understand and can be quite intolerant of water conditions and change.
Hopefully the stability of the big tank is what they need.
Might have to manually flip that guy over.
