Only Fins and Artistic Aquariums are on Alma School. They both had/have the same owners. Artisitic spun off their their retail and opened Only Fins. I haven't been there in over a year but their fish/CuC were healthy, corals were a little rough but they did include free Aiptasia.

bet it was one of those..place was small like 500 square feet..but prices were good...11 bucks for fire fish where other places that you said want 29 bucks...

It has improved quite a bit in the last year or so but still priced toward the high side for livestock. Dry goods are reasonable.

If I'm remembering correctly Only Fins (the retail division) is in a small strip mall. It's pretty small.

i like discount aquarium plce on mcClintock also sells used stuff and tank...Frozen food price best I know so far..The dude is cool /// fish selection not good for salt but fresh is good. where I go to get used stuff to MacGiver them..

I used to go to Discount a lot but their saltwater section really went down hill about two years ago. I still go there for used stuff but their new stuff is priced the same as Aquarium Arts and I got burned on a buy one. Bought a used Tunze eco chic refugium light. Got home and opened it up. It was their daylight unit and didn't have the magnet holder. No return. I use the light but I have to lay it on stuff because no holder. One of these days I'll 3d print something for it.

Only Fins looks like it closed and merged with Artistic.

I bought a two headed hammer for $10 at Artistic around Christmas time.

So they moved the retail back to Artistic? They only spun it off maybe three years ago. I think the foot traffic was causing them issues because they were constantly going through the shop with carts filled with RO/SW carriers and bits and pieces for their maintenance business. The customers were just in the way. Only Fins wasn't the best location though, at the back of a small strip mall at Alma School and Warner. Artistic is, or was, on Alma School in a commercial building.

EDIT-- Yep, they spun OnlyFins back into the store in the commercial building on Alma School in June. Artistic isn't all that large either and they run the maintenance business from there as well.
