How many did you get and what kinds? I know you bought photosynthetic ones (good choice by the way, much easier to care for). I'm thinking by the low rock islands in the front. They can get very big but not usually in an aquarium. They will sway a bit and should be in medium to high indirect flow. If the flow is too low they may get coated with algae which is extremely difficult to remove and if they are in too strong a direct flow it will peel their skin. The purples and browns are usually very hardy.

Those Gorgonians are really nice choices and not too hard to keep. They need good light but only medium flow and would really like the occasional phyto. They could go in the back as well but make sure they aren't in dead spots. They need some flow.

No help on gonis, I've eventually killed every one I've ever owned but it sure looks pretty.

So now that I have ordered gorgonians where should I place them in my tank? I'm reading they can get pretty big...

I think theyre easily trimmed though Amanda. Maybe treat them like tall plants in your freshwater tank? I really wanted some myself, a couple of the same ones you bought actually, but I ended up gettingthe other stuff first. My idea is to put them in corners or let it run snug to the rockwork. Almost like an accent piece. Think about how you want them to look in the flow too.

They don't attack and most corals don't bother them but I wouldn't put them too near an aggressive coral like a favia or pectinia.

I think this might look good but I'd say the orange toward the back and the purple toward the front. They really do add a lot to a tank in fact I think the only tanks I've ever had that did not contain several gorgonians were the one I have now and the Waterbox 15 before it, mainly because I haven't seen a healthy gorgonian at an LFS since I re-entered the hobby a few years back.
