I did play PC games as well, my favorite was C&C Red Alert... my cousin would come over and we figured out as long as I left the game running he can remove the CD and it'll continue to work just fine so my PC would stay on for many days at a time lol...

I still don't understand what Robux is, I get that it's a game but it looks like mini games?
So I played Roblox around the 2007 era. It's way different now than it was then. Back then people made janky little games using the "Roblox Studio" editor. Games would be little obstacle courses, hide and seek, survive disasters, paintball games, etc... Robux was the premium currency of the game (think of V bucks or Cod Points)

Robux could be obtained 4 ways back then. Buying it outright, by selling items (you could sell t shirts, bonuses to your games, etc...) auction house (sometimes a limited hat would go on sale for 200 robux, and once it sold out you could flip it for much more). and finally you could convert TIX (free currency) into robux. I know confusing for all of this.

As I got older roblox became more about getting you to fork out cash to play the various mini games (pay to win advantages etc...) over these simple little games you could play. I occasionally will hop on it for nostalgia reasons but it's not something I play at all anymore.

My dad introduced me into C&C Tiberian sun when I was a kid! I remember watching him play the old C&C's, empire earth, age of empires, and medal of honor

Based on what you're saying it almost sounds like Robux was practically ground zero for micro transactions for games.

Yes! Original Age of Empires was another favorite.... RTS games were very big back then. I could play the entire day without boredom.

Yeah in a since. Roblox went from a budget little game to a multi-billion dollar enterprise because of the number of kids who play it. Every game on it has some form of individual micro transaction so you can easily smoke a couple $100 on a few different games

My dad and I would have "competitions" where we would essentially race to see who would finish a game first. We never got to do lan play as we had to share the same pc. This is the exact same pc I had growing up. (had a big crt HP monitor instead of the dell one)

This is currently what I’m sitting on. Don’t do it for money and don’t spend much money into collecting games. I just look for good deals and try to get stuff as cheap as possible. This is from doing it for a little over 10 years now.

Oh for sure, original Starcraft and Broodwar expansion were top tier. So many masterpieces came out during that era... Blizzard never was able to replicate that success again.
