Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I have done 12 hour shifts in my younger days I don't even want to imagine doing them now.
My normal schedule is 14 days a month, I try to grab a few extra if i can.

Overtime is nice as long as you take care of yourself and don't get too worn out!

Welcome to CA 😎
I have been through tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, ice storms and now a very minor earthquake... I am never going where there are active volcanos... 😆

I was at my brothers in San Diego, it was early morning and I was walking down the hall and I felt like I was on a boat in waves for a few seconds. I thought that it was strange, I don’t start drinking until 9:00am. I went downstairs and my brother asked if I felt the earthquake. It was 4.5 with the epicenter just west of Los Angeles. It was felt all the way to Las Vegas.

@Rocks reef I didn't forget about you:

8 gallon. Lights just came back on after a power outage... See how pink they are? And short to the plug.

70 gallon - bigger polyps, bright purple, less flat, more golds.

Ya it's quite the experience and you never get used to the feeling.

Do you guys that use filter cups of anything other than filter floss in it?
when I had them on two sumps ago, was good for carbon..with floss on top.
problem w floss is it clogs up fast just like felt.
So I kicked cups to the curb..
Doing a grate with felf over it for a bigger area and if the felt gets clogged water can still flow over it.
Cups will slow water down

been doing them and longer sometimes 24 hour shifts or 48 hour shifts for last 24 years depends on the situation and the collateral damage...
But girl wants me to apply for semi retirement position...basically when its bad I go...

yeah something about the natives throwing beautiful girls into the volcanos...what a waste...
