Now, if Chris wanted to compromise his radical plans for humanity, as far as I'm concerned he can have his T* on Thursday instead of the revered Taco Tuesday. Nobody cares about Thursday anyway, it's just the day between Hump Day and TGIF.

Oh, and good morning Smorgville I hope you enjoy your Thursday.
Good afternoon Tom!

Pods arrived and have been added to the tank. Anyone know how long phyto is good kept in the fridge? I have never really thought about it going bad before but I guess it can.
I recently remember reading that with my Dinkins order and they said a month in the fridge.

Thank you! It might have said it on the paper that came with the order from reefs by steele but I threw it away.

I think it also said .5mL per gal/day. so 100gal =50mL per day = 1500mL per month or 50 ounces. so three 16ounce phytos will get you through a month per 100 gallons.

SonI walked into UPS today with the box and asked "who ordered the poo poo platter"?

The guy at the desk laughed but would not take the box from me for some reason...
so much easier than Kev asking me to probe him almost daily. 🙄

So my tank is 125 in the display and around 25 in the sump so how much should I be dosing a day? And does it matter if I dose it before lights are on? I have been dosing it for well over a month now but I'm not sure if I have been doing too much or maybe too little.

+5, most live phyto is usually good for a month or more in the fridge but be sure to flip the bottle a couple of times every few days to keep it from settling and open the top for a little while each day for gas exchange.

I have been shaking it up a bit day at least twice a day but I haven't been opening them.

According to their recommendations you should be dosing around 75 ml per day. That gets expensive quick if your not growing your own. I dose around 30 ml when I feel like it to my 100 (actual filled volume around 80 gallons water). It is slightly better, at least theoretically to dose after lights out but I've never bothered. The bottom line is some is better than none and as long as you don't have algae/nitrate/phosphate issues, it is hard to overdose.

My lights are still on most of the time when I go to bed that's why I was thinking in the morning while they are off before I go to work would be good.

well Dinkins would say 62.5 mL per day. as to how to dose, I haven't in a while, but would turn off the skimmer and drop it right over the powerhead to mix it through the tank. wait about 30 minutes before turning the skimmer back on. not sure dosing at night vs day but pods are more active at night.
