Well, rough day today! I was temporarily laid off today, personal and business expenses became too much. I guess I saw it coming, I’m the highest paid employee. Closer to 60 yo than 59 yo now, not sure how many employers would be interested. I guess it’s going to be a waiting game with my fingers crossed. Not where I thought I would be at this age. Oh well, I’ll be pulling my boots up tomorrow. Sounding off as Debbie downer.

My dad faced not quite the same similar when he was 63 and the highest paid in his branch of Publications/Productions at BU (ironic in a way, he started the thing from a friend who was former coworker in Pittsburgh turned Dean of Liberal Arts. They wanted to stop outsourcing to freelancers so he thought my dad would be a good fit to start the Graphic Design unit).
So his boss says you can stay here til retirement but you won’t run it any more or get full bennies for the next 10 months including pay and retire early. Guess what he took hmmm..
I guess part of what I’m trying to say with this story is there’s a silver lining in every blah situation. Honestly, maybe you should just take it easy and recoup a bit more. And it’ll give you time to think out next steps without a timer in the background.

Ya, that’s back to a two hour commute but probably my best shot. I’m going to try to hold off for a month or two and hopefully get a call back. His wife was with him when I was told and was crying when he told me so I think they do want me back but these changes against him have really hurt his practice and reputation .

Sorry this was outcome. It must have been a real gut punch. Like you said, though, perhaps the legal/reputation thing will settle out quickly and you'll be able to return. I do hope it all works out for the best for you.

Nope! I wouldn't worry about that at all. They will nip at algae and readily accept pellets and frozen. They're very easy to.please and their personalities are amazing!
