Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I've been collecting rock on ebay and adding it slowly to my little tank.

Cool small pieces and added some to my sump as well.
Summer is our busy time so I'm hoping to do water changes every other week.
We'll see....
Very cool pieces - what kind? Might need some for my nano tank.

Wish I knew! The red one is a. Australia. Grevallia. Yellow one, I don't know.
Check "Esperanza" maybe? Leaves don't look right but the flowers do.

I think all you need is a little frag, they grow fast and furious!
I have a frag and it’s maybe double in size not even. I’ve hat it for at least 6 months. Not much growth.

Wow - your tank is spectacular!! Everything growing nicely and I love your placement of corals.

Yay - summer break! We expect to see Parker out and about doing summer stuff. And good rest on Lacrosse for now.

I’ve been great - got to go to TSA in Florida for a coral shopping spree I won. You’d have to read a lot of pages here to find that though. Just go to my build thread if your interested.

When you get a chance, take more photos of your tank - different closeup sections. We love seeing the specifics. We are nerdy that way!
That’s awesome.
I’ve always wanted to go to TSA. I really want to try and win one of those shopping spree sometime.

How much money did you get to spend there? What do you get? How does the tank look after any pictures?

I could take some pictures tomorrow for you

Just a thought, I don’t have one but I did decades ago. I’m pretty sure they do better with a little higher iodine levels but do your research first. Iodine levels are hard to measure.

It was $1K. The corals arrive on June 10th. I will acclimate them for a couple weeks on a rack and then put on scape. Have to move stuff around. I will list everything next week once I receive them. Very excited!

I did get some cool fish since the last time you were here - check my thread as I did take pictures of them.

I love how we both started our tanks at the same time with the same actual tanks. You have better growth on your corals I think. I only bought very small frags and I wasn’t consistent on parameters so growth halted quite a few times. But I only lost two corals in 8 months and that was during trip to Florida so I’m ok with that.

Ok Fam, I’ve gotta go get rdy for trip to SF tomorrow. Be back home Thursday night.

Eat some tacos, enjoy your days and especially some peaceful evenings.

Luv ya, Jennifer
Safe travels sweetie.

Parker the amount I know about corals you could put in a thimble but I believe higher nutrients, dirtier water is what they want.
I have so much I'm having to scrape it off the glass. I feel bad, don't want to throw it away so I throw it in my sump and it's growing there too, just a little light.
It's pretty amazing stuff.

Well speaking of iodine I’m about to make a post about it in a minute. Check it out in a few minutes it’ll make sense.

1k!!! Wow that awesome. I bet you got a bunch of stuff. The tank will fill up real quick.

How did you win the 1k?

I can’t find a current pic of your tank.

Speaking of $1K, if you look close, this picture is worth about $1k...
