Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Also the Mel Wrasse is still sleeping and I was stressing about him. I'm glad this is a safe crowd to admit really dumb stuff.
that's not dumb, no dumb questions, just answers lol

Nem got shredded. He was wanting to know if he should pull out filter media and replace. Also to do another water change.
ah...I would get a bag of chemipure blue to help remove toxins...if you were close by I would give ya one bag...

yes replace any pads or filter mesh...I would not remove or change any filter media like rubble, ceramic rings, siporax, bio balls etc that would upset the good bacterial bed too much...

Weird it’s going on glass. We need a pic. I think those fish are awesome looking, would want one just because. They are hit or miss on eating aptesia though, but you have a larger enough tank that he could just be a cute fish. I thought I had 2 aptesia 3 months ago, got two peppermint shrimp and nothing ever since. Not sure if it was aptesia though but I’m rdy with the shrimp
Mine go on the glass frequently.

I like nems, toadstools and leather corals but do not have them because of the issue of a toxic cloud could happen in the tank..
I have all of them

Always nitrate/phosphate and PH.

Alk/cal/mag later once I start to restock tank with corals/fish

EDIT; just saw Joel’s post on testing - do what he said.

I’m stepping out of this one, too many cooks in the kitchen and u don’t need the newb like me
If it's macaroni or eggs I might step in...

@Calmwaters , in my 19 years of reefing I can’t recall aptasia multiplying that rapidly or being on my glass, plastic and rock yes. I really can’t make out anything in your pictures but I have seen dozens of pictures of hydroids on glass, google those and see if they are a match.
My Aiptasia spread VERY rapidly and it's frequently on the glass.

I think they just got him in this week, so I will let Dylan (LFS owner), condition him to eating the food I have and then I think I might just bring him home. I really appreciate that they don't let the fish go home until they are sure they are eating a variety of things. You can purchase or put on hold and take home when ready.

that's awesome

hmmm..seems like since fishguy took and posted that pic of the alien space ship hidden in the clouds at his donut shop, next to that large field of dead grass from the radiation from the space ship ...he has not been heard from... maybe they abducted him for his donuts....he will be missed....hahaha...

gotta add an @ symbol before the name to tag the person your speaking to, lol
I hope there wasn't an abduction
