Forgot to tell ya all with all the stuff going on.
My daughter finished painting the stand, notice I didn’t say refinish…. We won’t even go there.
Dylan comes to setup tank/stand and start cycle the day I’m getting on plane to SF; wait a minute…
This is not a Peninsula, it’s a regular rectangle with black back! I ordered the wrong frik-yn tank! We can’t do transfer, we can’t move nems, nothing getting done prior to TSA corals arriving on the 10th!
So I put it out of my mind. Called IM yesterday to see about exchanging- 25% restocking fee and I have to ship back on my dime. I also had already thrown away the extra outer shipping box.
So upset, told Dylan, just take all my nems for free. I won’t do nano. Put the $400 IM tank with complete kit, in garage and I’ll try and sell it when I’m up to it. I give up.
Of course being the incredible person he is;
Jen, Petco has tanks 50% - you could get a 20 gal Pen or 40 gal Breeder for like $30. We plop in the back insert, you already have the rest of equipment. I’ll DIY for you! And he’s looking for a buyer for my IM.
Had come home from this trip and was more past my abilities as a human Then I have ever been; then the tank; then my son with typical 26 yr old disaster financial issue he was scared to tell me - of course tells me an hour after I land!
To balance all that, I am able to do the surgery- it will happen in June, up at UCSF. And no, I won’t walk like a pirate with a peg leg! Don’t laugh cause I asked that specifically- lol. They will put a rod and pins in thigh. Dr said it will 100% hold my weight. So very hopeful.
I had 3 incredible Uber drivers from the Middle East. Each, had incredible stories or philosophies or talked about mine (obvious when you’re walking out of a building that says Cancer center). And each conversation was exactly what I needed to hear. I knew these last 6 months my attitude had been snarky, not positive; I just needed to hear from God something that resonated, and these did.
And then Dylan!
I’m feeling quite ***** and quite hopeful- going to see the grandkids today and that will certainly tip the scales to positive.
My long-winded, post is just to let you all know there is a lot going on. I might not be as active or I might be over-active on here. I know we all check-in on each other and this post saves time on individual responses.
I actually have so much reefing stuff I want to talk about! and I will as my energy comes back. I have packages to send out to you, pictures to post, thank you’s to mail, desserts to make. And get rdy not only for the incredible gift of corals from TSA, but a new fish family member for the 75 on Monday! A surprise from Dylan!
So please don’t flood the thread with thoughts on this post - I’m so tired of hearing about me. Like seriously. A emoji of mind-blown will suffice - lol.
All we have to do is think of our brother, Kevin. Always positive, quiet in his troubles and tribulations, and is getting the miracle he most needed right now. An example I am reminded of daily.
