Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
i dont. that has always looked daunting to me. my tank is about 3 year old i think. it was an upgrade so most of it is older than that. 2 apx9 kessils for lights. 2 mp40s one on each end of tank and a wavemaker in the back center

She cannot tolerate any flow at all or she's travelling.
This tank is now disconnected from my main tank and has its own sump.
The only flow is from the return pump.
I haven't changed the water in here in a while now.

We have a name for the ones that lift their skirt that readily...
I used to look for anemones like that when I was in high school!

Reminds me of the poodle skirts at the 50's dances I went to.

Tank should easily support RFAs and probably BTAs. Are you having major algae issues? BTAs don't like the swings associated with treating algae problems.

For RFAs, trick is placing them in the right spot. At the edge of a rock where the sand meets it and has a bit of groove underneath is perfect. Alternatively, you can put them in a PVC tube end cap and bury the endcap where you want it. They usually find those very comfortable according to one of the RFA pros, Ron Reefman.

My wife got a call last night - her aunt passed away. She's been sick for a bit now. She got a UTI and it just wasn't getting any better. She was sent home a few weeks ago and went septic. They took her back to the hospital yesterday but she just got worse and passed away around 10 pm. She was 85 so had lived a long life.

We weren't super close with that side of the family but they're family still so if you guys could pray for them, they'll be grieving.

Bad day yesterday for the aquarium. I bought 2 BTA Friday, placed them they stick for like 7 hours not moving one but fully opened before going to bed. Yesterday morning, both on the same powerhead, water a bit cloudy, I think it happened not long before. One was shredded, the other a bit better ( I try to save it), I put it on the sump and got an acclimation box. Last I wanted to give raw shrimp by hand and the royal pencil jump out of the aquarium behind it. I got him and put back inside, he was staying at the bottom swimming straight, not sure if he will made it as it is the first time for me that a fish jump. He is not yet out, we will see. This morning anemone seems a bit better. Anyway sorry to hear Tim.
