Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
First bucket on repeat delivery is $35.
Next will be $55.
Delivered to your door.
Only way to go.
Reef crystals is higher parameters.
So do I need the reef crystal or could I get the cheaper one?

The acans are looking pretty sweet! I'm going to try to mount them to my rockwork.

They are lovely! Looking forward to seeing where you put them and watching them grow!

Oh my gosh it's 2:00 already! I didn't realize I was hungry until I scrolled through and seen the lunches. My breakfast was at 5:30 and it worn off. Lol All the tanks are fine and the mess from it is cleaned up. My python sprung a leak and water went everywhere before I got it turned off.

So do I need the reef crystal or could I get the cheaper one?
Either works. I've used both. Currently I believe Reef Crystals is cheaper than Instant Ocean.

Thank you!
Your current system demand is relatively low. Once your corals really start growing and filling in and have much higher demands, you may reconsider Reef Crystals are starting looking at supplementation like Kalk as @1ocean was mentioning.

I have Kalk already but haven't used it yet.

What do you guys use to clean the outside of your aquariums? No matter what I do it always streaks. With my freshwater tanks I use vinegar and paper towels and don't have an issue but that doesn't work on my saltwater. Could it be that they are more noticeable because of the lighting or something?

Tim said it best.
Either is fine, reef crystals has higher parameters and higher alk.
Both these salts are the two highest rated and most used salts in the industry and they are both bulletproof.
I'm using IO and red sea blue bucket.
If I'm killing aiptasia with kalk paste I use red sea-lower alk and mixes fast.
Just water changes, IO or if I want to raise alk through a water change, IO.
Hope that's not confusing. :thinking-face:

It's the saltwater.
I use paper towels, then I let it sit till it's totally dry and use a microfiber cloth.
For my acrylic tank I use paper towels then a magic eraser.

Wet paper towel...

I will have to pick up a microfiber cloth because the streaks are so annoying! Lol

I use a wet paper towel followed by a dry paper towel and then another dry paper towel after that.

Sometimes, depending on how much salt has run down the outside of the glass it might take 2 or 3 passes with wet paper towels.
