So I'm making a wish list for future corals. Can corals of the same kind be placed near each other?

Some yes, some no.

I know hammers and prospawn and torches, yes, I learned chalices are hit or miss but mostly no, montipora are typically peaceful and do mostly ok side by side, zoas are a given as you see so many gardens. That's what I know

Montis will grow over each other so the fastest grower usually wins.

Gonis with Gonis are typically yes, Bernardopora probably just avoid or keep by themselves, Alveopora are usually good with Alveopora, Hammers and Frogspawn and Octospawn and Frammers are ok together.

Look at some photos of acan colonies that have grown in. They're hard to beat. Low light and low flow are your friend. Mushrooms are great spot filler, as you can get away with less light. And no matter how many corals I get, my candy cane is always an eye catcher

Torches with torches only. Frogspawn and hammers are fine with being together.
