I usually go to Sylva at least once a year if not a dozen or more times a year. It’s been a year though and planning my spring mushroom hunting trip. Here is a video of some of my last hauls in Sylva.

I’m the only one in my house that eats mushrooms and I love them. Nice haul! Oregon and Washington have a special mushroom that are only legal to eat in those two states.

I would love to know which ones are safe to eat in the wild bit it would be my luck I would mess up and eat the wrong one...

You have to study and use a microscope for real proper identification.
But once you’ve eared the basics they are everywhere and become easy to identify

I bet they have books for identification of edible ones and which ones that are poisonous. For you younger reefers, books were how we learned things and were entertained by a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away. It consisted of pages of papers that had written words and sometimes had pictures or sometimes not. I avoided the ones without pictures.

We have a book on edible wild plants but some of them are so similar looking it would be hard.

Oh man I have a drs appointment at the VA today and it’s an hour drive.
I think it might be better if someone drives me there after yesterdays rage fest at the UPS hub and the accident that took place on my property I will be a hazard on the road today.
I have impulse control problems and get severe road rage and my mental state isn’t quite the best today.
I mean I feel happy right now and great but I know as soon as I get into the city and driving I become a danger to anyone that crosses my path.
Be careful who you upset on the road ways you never know it might be me and I might ruin your day and mine or your life and my life.
In Jesus name Lord I pray keep me calm and give me the strength to be a better person.

Man what an awesome photo for your kids to see and experience. My son and I were going through my grandfather's ww2 items, service records, commendations, etc. We found paperwork detailing what he went through and the casualties in his battalion. He never talked about it, but I never felt closer to him, or like I understood him more than after learning what he'd been through. God got you through that, he won't let you lose to a traffic mistake, I don't think.
