Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Lobsters aren't something I could catch myself. I wish, but the lobster industry is basically only for certain families and friends of their family. If I wanted to get into it, it'd be extremely hard.
To bad they don’t sell them cheap in grocery stores and restaurants in Maine. ;)

Cheap is a subjective term lol. I could still buy several nice rib eyes for the price of 1 lobster lol that said, I was thinking crawfish because it'd be fun to go catch with the son when he's a little older!

My boys loved to do that when they were little. They used to wait in the driveway wearing their rubber boots and holding their buckets and nets.

Plain old American cheese rolled into a ball on a bluegill hook, or white bread same as above. Best though is probably those little freeze dried shrimp. You really don't need a hook at all, just fishing line. They grab the bait, not the hook.

I just want my kid to grow up with a good childhood like that. Not sitting inside waiting for a new video game

Gonna have to try this! I know a stream where there's crayfish and and a deeper hole

Ok Joel, my Kasa power strip has the option to set a timer for each space, now I set one so that the reactor works 6 hours a day, today I can't test because I ran out of reagents but tomorrow I'll get it.

Good Lord, I need this in my life!!!

Always wanted to attend one of those! I love me some crayfish! That said, what i can get in maine is, I'm sure, very very sub par
Yeah maybe, but you guys have your own wonderful seafood as well! Crawfish need about 30 minutes in the boil soaking, to load them with that excellent Cajun flavor. Same with boiled shrimp. Throw in some corn, potatoes, sausage, mushrooms, and whatever you like to eat with it!

We call them crawdads out here. I've done a crawdad boil before. We were out camping so no seasonings except salt and pepper but some fresh lemon juice and butter for dipping.

John you will love it, you can control the whole tank even when you are away, sometimes my ato reservoir runs out of water and when the alarm goes off I just go in the app and turn it off and when I get home I refill it and so it doesn't work without water, to feed it the same, I go in and turn everything off and turn it on 30 minutes later even if I'm not home

Oh I don't think maines like that but maybe I should look into it! Maybe I've been missing out on this gem all along! Although, I have never heard of a crayfish boil in maine before :face-with-tears-of-joy:
If you live in an area where they are referred to as "crayfish ", I assure you, they don't boil and eat them there. :)

Maines lobster industry has a bit of a mob feel to it lol. Like legit. People end up beaten/missing for messing with traps and stuff
Same way with the shrimpers down here lol.

Exactly! The first thing I thought was ato. Then water changes, and even wavemakers after lights out. I didn't know such a thing existed! I'm buying one immediately. Man you are such a wealth of gadget knowledge

Sounds like the young man has a good papa to me
