Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Good news, I forgot a diffuser. PAR is only 640 at the surface of the tank. 130 at the sand bed. I wonder if the Orphek is part of what's going on with the LPS... Raised my PAR?
640 is not too much?

So there's a guy on Instagram that did a PAR measurement comparison using a bunch of different PAR meters - Photone (free cellphone app) was the closest to the Apogee 510.
I'm downloading it now lol. Have you tried it Tim? I think I'm going to give it a shot. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

It’s funny my oldest son went to one of his friends house when he started middle school, he had been going since elementary school. When I picked him up he said he didn’t want to go back. I asked what happened and he said all his friend wanted to do was sit in the basement and play video games. Both of my boys were outdoorsy. My daughter was the athlete, little league one state twice and went to the World Series in Kirkland Wa. Played travel ball from eleven to eighteen and high school ball. Pitching and batting coaches the whole time, college showcases etc. very little video games.
That's the way life should be bud. I can always tell which type of people I'm getting when we get new hires. The kids that went out and played sports and went hunting and fishing etc are often times way harder workers and care more about whether they are doing it right or not. Video games kids are hit or miss but usually miss. Have to yell at them constantly to get off their phones

Do they wait until soft shell season or all year around?
They usually run from around new years to right after 4th of July. But you can get pond raised most of the year, it's just usually on the Chinese buffet or previously frozen

Yeah, they're about $2.50lb here boiled, and less than $2.00lb live. But I live less than an hour from New Orleans. They're literally in the ditches here. If they're good, that's not as high as I'd thought they'd be that far North.
I think scallops are still like 9 or 10$ a lb in Maine. But everything's expensive here

It's the only one I've used.

Of course you are! We, are like mafia, once you are in your in and every time you think you got out we will pull you back in. ;)
Kevin haunts me in my nightmares- i mean... Kevin, and the rest of the smorg are family!

Everywhere!!!!!!!!!!
I have yet to find anything that I can buy cheaper than anywhere else, besides lobster but I don't eat enough to be happy about that one saving :face-with-tears-of-joy:

Using just the piece of paper as a diffuser? I saw a review that said they bought some diffuser accessory and got better results but that looks like it wasn't for a reef keeping scenario

Might be a numb question but how do you test it Tim? Do you put your phone in a ziplock or do you have a water proof case or what? :thinking-face:

@tharbin Tom, It's been a while since the frag photos, any updates?
Luis, thanks for asking. Posted a few in my build thread but all is doing well. I'm probably going to grab a few shots tomorrow and I'll post some here. My Foxface has been going on a tear lately in the tank so I have to reattach a few of the frags and I need to get at least the Green Fiji Birdsnest mounted as it is starting to attach more to the plug than I like birdnests to attach.

I used paper.
