Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Some will die fast, others can go a week or more. Probably depends on the infection and hardiness of the euphyllia.
I agree. I try and keep Cipro and Amoxicillin on hand.

I appreciate your advice Tim. Can it spread to anything other than euphyllia in.your experience?

I haven't experienced it but others have reported spreading to other LPS.

Good flesh band. Bjd is a concern , if you can take it out of the water and smell it and it smells like the most rotten smell you have ever smelled it is confirmed, KFC is the gold standard dip for Bjd but if you have it out of the water might as well do an iodine dip and if you can Quickly get your hands on some cipro do an intake treatment, 500 mg per 20 g. Turn off skimmer and remove your carbon. Sorry busy afternoon.
Perfect advice Kevin. I was going to send him the intank treatment later. He may as well do his whole tank to wipe it out since it's in there already. I can send him some cipro tabs.

Agree. It's in the water column, so if the euphyllia experiences any type of stress, which lowers it's immune system, it has a chance of being infected.

When I say I haven't experienced it, I mean I have had a hammer with BJD that spread to another hammer and a torch. The torch lost 1 head but the other head survived, both hammers died. I did nothing to treat other than sucking up the BJD off the heads with a turkey baster and blowing the rest of that I couldn't get sucked up.

Again, DON'T FOLLOW MY EXAMPLE!

you must have been into this guy too. He can play the guitar in 2 seconds!

Oh absolutely! That guy is a master. Swedish metal guitarists are such beasts.

I can over night you a couple tabs of Cipro man.
That's super kind brother. Do you think I could find some locally at the lfs or something near me, to save you the trouble. Is it hard to come by? I feel pretty clueless about this lol

I order from I think "Fish Doctors"... I'm not sure if you can source it locally without a prescription. The reason "fish places" can sell it, is it is labeled for fish. However, it is the EXACT same antibiotic that is prescribed.

**Edit - I stand corrected, here is where I order it from

One of the best! Steve Vai, Jimmy Hendrik, Brian May, Eric Clapton, Eddie VanHalen, Ritchie Blackmore from Deep Purple... man, I could go on. Music is my muse. I rarely watch TV, I normally have on music. I remember watching Roy Clark absolutely destroy on an acoustic guitar... I was probably 8 or 9 years old watching probably Hee Haw. Zack Wyld... Jimmy Page... Les Paul... d**m I could list at least 50 more great guitarists. Hell, Prince could play and play very well he did!
All of these are Great. I think David Gilmour was a huge inffluence to guys like Vai and Satriani, you can hear his music in theirs. I'm into the older stuff, the beginnings of the Genre. Richie Blackmore's stuff with rainbow is groundbreaking. Shenki Chen was a Japanese virtuous in the same time period as Hendrix. He'll knock your socks off.
There are some excellent country guitarists out there since you brought up Roy Clark. Chet Atkins could shred, and Glenn Campell was an underrated guitarist too.

John, you can try places like Tractor Supply or other "farm" supply stores. I really didn't look to hard locally, I just ordered it online.

Oh wow so it's the same antibiotic as you're prescribed? I may actually have some. It may also be Amoxicillin.

Your LFS may have some. I'd give them a call and see. If not, they may be able to point to somewhere or someone who has some. You don't need much. Three tabs will be MORE than enough for your size tank sir.

Amoxicillin will work as well if you have some at home since Cipro and Amox are both broad spectrum antibiotics. After you treat your tank, I'd make sure you have something like Microbacter 7 on hand to help populate your tank. Some say it decreases bacterial levels, other say it doesn't. It wouldn't hurt to have some on hand though.
I can find the dosing on that as well.
Kevin may be able to chime in to.

Thanks Kevin, you guys are really awesome. I'm trying to save this guy. Keith says he has some cipro, I'm trying to save him some trouble first.

Dude, you are speaking my love language! Honestly, ask my wife. I can rattle off bands, singers, drummers, etc and she is amazed about the musical roladex I keep in my head! LOL
