Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
You use Fritz salt as well Kevin?
You are correct good sir! I never used it my previous 16 years in the hobby, in fact I never heard of it. I’ve got a fantastic LFS luckily and it’s what they run their systems with and is all they sell. I try to purchase as much as I can from them whether live or dry. I also posted a huge stack of Fritz RPM in Tidal Gardens.

New additions. The lights were almost out, so the pics are aren't the greatest. Plus I was in a hurry to take them before lights out. I had a busy day yesterday. Got the boat out of storage, did spring maintenance then had to take it out since it was 80 and sunny. I did the maintenance while waiting for the torches to be dropped off. As soon as they arrived. I dipped them and put them on the rack. Fired up the truck and hit the lake!
I need to do some arranging as my euphyllia collection is growing and the tank is not. Lol.
The new tank should be here soon.
First pic is banana grail next to highlighter holy grail. The highlighter is neon yellow, the banana is a bold yellow if that makes sense.
Second pic is a master torch. Some tentacles are yellow, some green, some mixed, some striped.
Third pic, which is fuzzy and crappy, is a solid green torch. The green on it is unlike anything I've seen. It's jade green in person.
I'll get better pics when the lights are on when I get home.

Absolutely Stunning Keith!

I get that and understand. I haven't sent off an ICP yet. I want to once the other tank is up and running. I'd like to have a good base point to start from.
I only did it once because all the young cool kids were doing it. It only came back with high iodine and I cut way back on dosing but my zoa garden was loving it when it was that high.

I remember those pics of Tidal Gardens and they had a pallet of it! I'll be switching over once my Reef Crystals is gone.

Thank you sir. Now if I can learn to take better pictures rather it looking like the side window of the Jeep after the Huskies have had their wet noses all over it, I'll be ok.

That zoa garden is spectacular! I love those rics you have growing on the pillar as well sir! Are the blastos on the right side in a shaded area? I like the placement, well thought out!

Thank you. Unfortunately the one stupid coral I can’t keep is rics. I’ve tried 4 times and they all ended the same way, I can’t figure it out. All my blastos are shade and do great.

I'm in trouble with my Zoas... The Strats just "jumped" to the Bowerbanki rock.

Your reef crystals are probably the most used salt. I would probably be using it if my lfs sold it. I don’t hold any allegiance to Fritz , just my lfs. It does mix quick and clean.

On this week’s podcast of cooking with Kev, we’ll be making toast! I’m so excited, a house favorite. I haven’t made it in a decade after losing the recipe but I was scrolling recipes when my old lost recipe popped up. The family will be so excited when they get home!

my kid would be thrilled to just eat that stick!

going to see what happens. I'll remove algae later when she picks a spot.

Beautiful Paul! I’ve always avoided them because of the splitting, moving and stinging thing but I have been considering it for my upgrade. I’ll watch your journey closely.

Can you frag them and cover over where they were with glue? Mine have never left my island unless they were getting a ride from my tuxedo urchin.

mostly I want to see if I am able to support one. I'm not sure this light is strong enough. I do think I have the right flow. going to see where she moves to.

I dose iodine once a week ( from RedSea Trace Elements )

That's the plan.

If I can support one, I bet you'll have no trouble supporting one! I didn't know BTAs or anemones in general were considered for 'mature tanks' only, and I got one the first week when I started out back in Feb in my hexagon of hell tank. His name is Steve. He's now survived two three-ish tank cycles and a move!

That's not a bad thing TBH. You can cut them off and sell them.
