If what is happening to you is not a consequence of you cleaning the walls of the tank, I would remove everything from there as soon as possible because the most likely thing that will happen is that the tank will start to leak from the corner that is giving you the problem.

im not sure what you mean luis. i dont have a corner thats giving me a problem. i just sometimes pick out pieces of rubber looking stuff thats a couple of inches long. i do have a pencil urchin. i least i think so! he only would come out at night. they dont burrow in the sand do they? the one piece that was sticking out of the sand i went to pull it out and here it was still attached! over by the overflow. that is kinda why i was wondering if it could possibly be from around that

If you're finding 2 inch pieces of silicone Jill, you may want to observe all of the seems. Make sure you dont see any lightening of the seems as if the glue was separating. Do you have a scraper? Im not sure why else you'd have this much loose silicone in your tank.

What I mean is that there is no other place that uses silicone other than the corners, and I believe that it does not fall alone unless there is a problem

Probably not silicone but pictures would be good.
Just wondering about the urchin cuz years ago I had one of those super spiky ones, the ones that lose quills and it ate all my coraline and part of the silicone seams too before moving on to the heater...

Hey Tom I meant to get back to you earlier. Im sure you've gotten some.good advice by now but I haven't caught up yet.
I’ve used both methods and both have worked. The first time I mixed the pill with the rodi water in the amounts laid out in
this article.

It was around 3 MG for my tank. It saved my affected hammer in quick order. I had almost pulled the hammer, it was that bad.

This time I had a couple corals effected so I administered the large dosing method and it also solved my issue, saving a torch and one hammer. Another hammer died, but probably because I realized it to late before I dosed the cipro.

There were no negative effects and in fact made all lps look a bit healthier for a while. I know that nitrifying bacteria was unaffected because my parameters have never changed with N03 always around 6

Thanks for that. So two for one dose and one for staggered doses. The single dose seems easier and more immediate so I think I'll go that way.

This afternoon I started to see some signs of the blue torch drooping so I want to get the tank dosed ASAP.
