Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
I appreciate that but nahhh, my tank has nothing extraordinary, easy corals, cheap lights and little automation, nobody wants to see that nowadays and it's understandable, a tank full of sps is much more attractive to see, not for me but many believe that a tank full of sps is the pinnacle of knowledge in the hobby and it's also understandable
I know what you are saying and it is very humble but I disagree. There are a lot of reefers, especially 'seasoned' reefers that prefer low tech tanks and today the difference in skill-level between a LPS tank and an SPS tank is minimal. There is no such thing as a starter coral. Some are more resilient than others but they all require similar skill in husbandry. Go for it.

Great wisdom Tom, good morning! My tank is running almost the same as my first one I set up in the mid nineties that I had running for 16 years.

Good morning Smorgville.

Been exciting so far. My return pump failed yesterday but came back on. It failed twice this morning so it is soaking in citric acid as an unscheduled maintenance day. Looking for sales on Sicce as I type.

Hey guys and gals! There's a rumor going around that Tim had a Twinspot Goby once upon a time. I have it on good authority that this rumor is TRUE!

Anyway, if you or someone you know has been affected by this rumor and would like to be included in the Twinspot Goby owners group (very exclusive), @Fish & Coral Store currently has them on sale!

So you're saying no one wants to see my tank...

Cheap corals, free lights, no automation?
I'd love to see your tank any day of the week, big boy, and twice on Sundays.

I forgot to tell, everyone, but back in 1984 when I was 19, a processing plant I worked at had a dust explosion. One of the ducts that removed wood shavings had failed and was filling a pump room with basically fine sawdust. They figured one of the pump motors finely set it off. The wall that I was stationed by was blown outwards, this is what launched me into the air and 26 feet from where I was standing. I figured the wall kept most of the flames off of me but my hair was burned and my coveralls were smoking when I got up. I had broken my collar bone, this happened when landing. I was lucky since I was coming down head first and did the best to break my fall. 4 people were effected by the blast and no one had any life threating injuries.
I am wondering if the walls were on hinges. Many plants are built this way for exactly the reason of explosions.

Thank you everyone! I’ll still check in with all of you and still do my daily stuff I’ve been doing (assuming I’m not too busy haha) you guys have been awesome
Many congratulations to you and @AlyciaMarie ! Sending nothing but the best for your upcoming adventure of a lifetime!

Shoot, let em come to my area then. Id enjoy showing them how wrong they were. With pride!
Come let me show you how a broke man can reef! That's way more relatable than some 1 out of a million instagram tank. It's not a contest from what im seeing. They just want to show off some local reefs.

I always want to see it, your tank is very unique and beautiful and I've always told you that, I know you say it as a joke lol, but if you look at YouTube, the videos of an SPS tank against an LFS tank, the SPS tanks always have more views and that has taken the hobby in that direction
That's youtube and Instagram though brother. Walk into an actual reefer's house or check a great majority of the build threads on R2R. You're NOT going to see mostly show tanks.

You’re looking at it very narrowly Luis, show me a tank with all sps and one with lps and softies and I’ll barely glance at the sps tank ( sorry stick heads) and I’ll dissect the lps and softy tank trying to identify every coral and determine which I absolutely need. So many of us have different ideas of what a great tank looks like which is great because if everyone had the same idea of what a beautiful tank looks like we would all have the exact same looking tanks. I’ve seen many Fowler predator tanks without a single coral that absolutely blew me away!
Preach brother
