Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Not all petcos mine is fantastic.
I’ve seen a lot of posts where people love their Petco. Like any franchise it all depends on the stores owner. Some are great and some are not.

Converted a bio pellet reactor into a what company calls a cryptic reactor.
Going to wrap it in commercial vinyl that is used to wrap vehicles. My girl is the designer manager at a sign maker place that does everything printed, embordered, laser engraved.. signs, shirts, hats, school backpacks, cups etc.
So I get free vinyl and use of all the big machines. Going to make the 3rd prototype of a algae reactor soon. Just finished making the first dosing container idea that might come with a stir base to stir the solution before it gets dosed..
I ran into this problem when I set up my Ecotech dosing station with Microbater7 and Tropic Marin A- and K+. Noticed they settle on the dosing container bottom, so I added stirrers to each.
Soon going to launch a business, plan is 2026, thinking about semi retirement from the real job and do what I love the most, tanks stuff and making things...most of our stuff will be custom including tank lids, which we are still drawing out. So many ideas given to us and the material and colors are cool..

It's 21 tall with a 8 inch tube. Filled it with mixture of all size bio balls and siporax. What to have a slow flow through it to encourage sponges etc

Ah cup #2 calling my name..

Sounds fantastic!
Keep us updated on the reactor.
I've been wanting to make/run use one for awhile just don't know where I'm going with it so any help will be much appreciated.

I was trying to keep it under $400. Those are $650 for the K1 Max and $750 for the 5Max. I was interested in the Flash Forge for the 4 color printing rather than swapping out a color. But I think I need to keep it down to the 3 V3 or Flash Forge. Those are both ~369 on sale. I doubt the Max would drop below $400 for BF. But I could wait till then to see. But like a 35% sale?
Paul,

There are a lot of good printers out there today. Multicolor is nice but you will probably use it less than you think. I have three printers: a Bambu Labs A1 Mini, a Bambu Labs A1 with AMS Lite, and an Elegoo Centari Carbon. I also used to have a Creality Ender 3 S1 Pro that I donated to a friend. I use the A1 Mini the most because it is small and easy to use. The Elegoo is the hardest to use so I only use it for materials that need to be in an enclosure (ABS, Nylon, ASA, some Carbon Fiber blends, etc.). I can run multicolor on the A1 Mini or the A1 but rarely do. Unless you have multiple nozzles or printheads, multicolor printing involves a lot more time and material. It has to stop printing, cut the old filament, purge the old filament, load the new filament, load the nozzle, re-purge to get all of the old color out of the nozzle and then start printing again. It has to do this for every color change on every layer that has multicolor. A typical print has hundreds of layers.

I would think about what types of things you will print as they will help dictate the bed size. Bigger is better, to a point. My printers are 180mm cubed, 256mm cubed and 256mm cubed. 80% of what I print can be printed on the A1 Mini (180mm). I do have occasions when I wish I had a larger bed, like Tim's but not often. I think I've had two things that were too large for the bed. I did find the Ender 3 (220mm) bed a little confining. 300mm seems to be a popular size. The difference between 220mm and 256mm sounds like a small difference but it is significant as a lot of online designs are designed for the Prusa printers and they, except the XL, are 256mm beds.

I have the V3 Max Neo

Live aquaria shutting down makes me feel old and sad. I remember using that website when I first got into the hobby just too look at fish.. it's how I've gotten others into the hobby too. LA will be missed however I wanna see petcos aquatics do the same. I'm tired of seeing petco and PetSmart's aquatic sections in neglect.
Not all petcos mine is fantastic.
That's good. I hope some are good. But the ones I have seen are terrible. In my opinion we should make a law to where you have to have a licence to sell fish and there would be an inspector. (No more bettas in cups). It's just ridiculous.

I have 3 that I frequent and have bought many fish from them. However, they vary from week to week or month to month on quality of care.

Have not ever bought from Pet co salt fish... The fresh water looks ok...
If betta in cups make you upset don't ever go to China, Japan etc, their fish industry packs them in tanks or what ever they can keep them in...and yes some of the stuff they build is beautiful to see loaded with fish...so both sides of the spectrum...

I think my wife and I are the only nut jobs that make dog food on this thread. Our dog vomited in our bed last night and a bay leaf was in it. My wife added 2-3 bay leaves to his food while cooking it last night. She googled it and apparently bay leaves are toxic to dogs. Just a heads up.

Happy Sunday everyone! Final day of moving out of the apartment for us and we will be 100% moved into our new house! Now the fun begins with all the organizing haha.

Good band they have some really good material out there

This was the freebie I got with my Scolys and lobo. Looking for an id, I think it starts with a p but I’m to lazy to search.
