Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
You're right about the tiger torch comparison. Yours glows yellow in the middle. That would look great in The Back 40. Ill send you my address :)

I got you btw. Once I get some more heads on it (hopefully). That is also if I do not accidentally ☠️ it. It is definitely looking much happier since when I dipped it lol. I saw so many pests on it from the store that I was a little harsh with the dip & my pipette.

It always amazes me how it can look so different with eyes compared to the camera lol.

That's crazy how it literally glows. You can see it under both light settings. I bet the purple coloration comes in darker soon and really provides a killer contrast.

I would've done the same thing! Can't have the pests. That's really cool man. You've got something there I've never seen.

Yeah I mean with my eyes it looks very orange in the middle under the deep blue lights, right now its on my night time schedule which has a lot more blue in it and almost little to no white or other colors, its a weird schedule but its made/adapted from this guy named pennywise from an AI Hydra32 facebook group but it really pops. At the LFS the tanks were kind of gross and the corals did not look too happy so I got it for a very good price, ($25) since they were closing up shop.

Are you running mobius app? My lights start out bluer and slowly gain a little white until it peaks at 25% and 15% warm and cool whites during the day. Then the white fades away and the blues go up in percentage but overall down in intensity. Then I added 15% ish red to make the dendros glow pink.

$25 there you go buddy. You can grow that into a jewel!

I bought the ugliest little hammer from my lfs a little over a year ago. I think I paid $30, which was too much because this hammer looked terrible in hindsight lol.

But I made it happy and kept it stable and it turned out nice. It's weird too. It has very long polyps for a hammer.

I use the My AI app but I think the schedule can be moved over to Mobius. I know people say Mobius is better but I have an older Prime 16HD on my other tank that does not work with the Mobius app. But I also use a par meter to check the stability of lighting as well. Maybe someday I will make the switch lol.

Also that hammer looks insane.

I haven't added anything to my tank from the Gulf, but my wife has a Gulf thinstripe hermit crab tank. They get pretty big and live for a while. I used to use them for bait. (Dont tell her)

I've caught these in a minnow trap, that they call gulf snapping shrimp. It just looks like a pistol shrimp to me.

And I've also caught these little mystery gobies described in this old thread.

Looks more like a crawdad !
