So you and John both mentioned and ice bath, so I assume thats pretty much essential! I dont think i have any ice currently so i'll get some made and in the meantime i'll clear the drain board

It helps a lot, maybe more than anything. Im not even trying to be funny. Sit a bowl of water outside. That'll be plenty cold enough by time the eggs are done.

I have a cheapo skimmer that I cant even use because I tried to clean the pickup tube with alcohol and the acrylic/plastic literally crumbled. But I cant bring myself to throw it away because I could diy something with the body maybe haha

I don't even know how many times I decided to leave the hobby when moving and gave away/sold literally everything only to restart, from scratch, a few months or years later. Better to keep it all. Starting over gets real expensive.

No. I have the leucoxanthus - very similar but instead of full yellow, he's yellow with a white belly.

He's a zoomy zoomer and doesn't like his picture took.

I'm considering replacing the melanurus with a chrysus if I can find a young, healthy female. Usually they're skinny or sickly looking.
