What kind of par do you have your setosa in Tim? If I remember correctly, you have them in different spots and parameters around your tank? Mine is only a couple of inches beneath the water line in high par and flow. It's very bright red with the new growth being a hot pink/orange. The new growth is also almost a plating structure.

Mine is in almost complete shade (thanks to my ever growing Birdsnest...) but I also have a piece in the 8 gallon in fairly low par and a few scattered pieces in the 70 on the sand bed or frag racks near th sand bed. The one under the Birdsnest was about halfway up. Maybe 150 par if I'm lucky when it wasn't under the Birdsnest. Now, with the Birdsnest it's likely getting less par than the sand bed

Looks like the A1 printer will become a long-term project rebuild. The downside of a quick change nozzle system is that all of the screws for almost everything related to the toolhead except the extruder are located behind the nozzle. The printer looks like it only needs about $40.00 worth of parts but getting the old parts out is going to be very difficult as they are fully encased in PETG now.

The only thing I can do with the A1 is chip away at the PETG by heating the nozzle to 280+ to melt as much as possible and keep picking at it until I can get the nozzle out, then replace the heating assembly and nozzle. The PETG is very hard and fully encrusting the nozzle assembly and heating assembly so I expect to just keep at it in dribs and drabs for quite a while. Once the nozzle is out it should be fairly easy to finish.

I haven't used the Centauri Carbon in a long time as I don't much care for it but I'll go over it and see if I can get it tuned well enough to print the brick holder as it won't fit on the A1 Mini. In the meantime, looks like I'll be putting my AI Blade Grows up for sale after all so I can start saving for a new printer. Maybe some other stuff as well.

In other news, my new corals from Pieces of the Ocean are currently seated in First Class, drinking Mimosas and using those warm towelettes. Then they'll take the limo to here after a thorough tour of the valley.

@Rocks reef, unfortunately it looks like it will be several days before I can print your power brick holder. The A1 is a really good printer and it has only had two failed prints. Yours was the second. The A1 has a really lousy camera and no spaghetti detection. I've gotten a little complacent since it always just works. Anyway I went up to get a look at your print as it didn't look right through the camera.

Here is the heating element/nozzle:

That black is your power brick holder. The little sliver of silver at the top middle of the black is the release latch for the nozzle. I have spare nozzles but it will take a while to dig the clip out of the PETG and it looks like I may have to replace a couple other parts. Bambu does ship quickly but I need to get it apart first to see what all it needs.

Here is what the nozzle should look like:

--edit-- for those that know what this should look like, this is what is under the silicone sleeve. The silicone sleeve came off easily and is fine.

When I've had failures like that in th Ender I ramp up the hotend temperature around 10° higher than the filament printing temp, give it about 2 minutes and it mostly peels off then wipe it down good with a paper towel.

Yeah its kind of like with Stratospheres for normal people (other than @tbrown and his magical concoction of (Tabasco sauce, tap water, & Oganesson) they usually take forever to grow or just melt away for majority of people.

I feel like it just depends on the type of Zoa a lot.

These weird Stratosphere Zoas are invasive! I can't grow easy Zoas but the Strats are moving around my tank. They're currently overgrowing one of my Bowerbankis...

I have same issue with zoa's, they're slow but mushrooms and leathers are not an issue. I feed heavy though, I'd like to think it's a dirty tank.

Are you talking about the corals or yourself?

What salt do you use? If your tank is mostly soft corals they may be absorbing most of the Iodine out of the system.

I also add Phyto as I hear that helps soft corals.

Yes as much as it was a pain to change nozzles on my Ender this type of problem was much easier. The quick change system just adds all kinds nooks and crannies that trap the PETG. I've already heat-soaked and peeled/pricked/pulled/cussed twice but it has hardly made a dent in the buildup.

That said it is a rare problem as I've only had one other failed print on the A1 and it was just spaghetti hardly any buildup on the nozzle. My wife wants me to just donate the A1 to the kid at St. Vincent de Paul that I gave the Ender to and buy another printer (what a great wife) but that isn't really feasible right now as I just replaced the garage door opener. Next time will have spaghetti detection and a decent camera. Probably an enclosed like a P1S or P2S so that I can rehome the Centauri Carbon as well. I don't think I'll be letting the A1 Mini go though as it is just a fun little printer.
