For me I went with the IM SR 80G If you put it in your cart and then wait a few days they offer a $300 gift card from algae barn if you buy it in 24 hours usually, don't do it until your ready though. The reason I liked it is its 47 inches so basically 4 feet which is usually the magic length people say is important for tangs which is what I wanted. The other thing is its not too deep which I love since maintenance is a lot easier. It does seem to be the largest and most expensive of the bunch though. I am a big fan of length and shallowness in the tank though. Also IM is the brand that seems to be the least likely to leak. Not a fan of Aqua top as I bought products wavemakers, etc and they all have failed or broke.

To me IM is the in between of off the shelf tanks kits like Water box and red sea and full on custom tanks like glass cages.

Its packaged and sold like a off the shelf kit but the fit and finish is like a custom tank.

I do love zoas! Maybe I will do zoas and maybe some seas fans on the two sides and then along the back do some encrusters on the back...

we just got postings for a blizzard warning. 6-9" doesn't seem like a blizzard. But I am assuming no school tomorrow.

Blizzard conditions expected. Total snow accumulations
between 6 and 9 inches. Wind gusts in excess of 40 mph possible...
especially along the immediate coast.

Its snowing here right now as well but they aren't expecting any accumulation. The wind is blowing really hard so it's just blowing it around.

Which of these do you guys think would work better for filter cups? A with the slits on the sides or B with holes mostly on and near the bottom? I'm leaning more towards B because I think on A the water would run through too fast to filter well but I wanted to check with you guys before I order.

Yeah im leaning towards the im for sure. I may end up with the 65g because I measured my space and it'll probably fit better there AND a meridian 24 would fit without going up to though. There probably wont be many fish in this tank, but the extra space would be nice.

Of course Im having a hard time justifying the $1700 price difference and extra $399 in shipping when the aquatop is the same size and just a mile down the road!!

(One thing I do miss about living up nort der hey is my basement and crawlspace. Who would ever think someone could miss a basement. A crawlspace, I can understand, for all the extra room.)

This is the Meridian 45 14k model. In the pic, I have channels maxed and the color is perfect! I am not using a filter and the pic really isn’t that blue, it is a nice crisp white with touch of blue. Reminds me of when I ran Radium halides.
I love it!
I still need to add the edge bars.

I don't know I think the slits might be better so water doesn't back up too quick either but I suppose either will do the job. Not sure.

There you go Rock!! If im correct the 45 covers 48x22 or 24? I don't remember the measurements of your glass cage, but are the bars for uv/accent or are you trying to max coverage area?
