Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
to late to clean the fish last night when we got back, Fish are on ice, fixing to go filet up crappie, hybrid bass, and spotted bass. will take a few pics to share
Sounds like you did well

Bass are fun to catch! Used to go fishing on the lake with my dad back when we had a lake house. We would try to go for striped bass, but usually would end up with crappie and spotted bass.
Nothing wrong with that, crappie are good eating

SOoooo.... I finished filling the tank yesterday. Topped her off until the water was running through the overflow. I hear a waterfall... I look behind the tank and I hadn't tightened down the unions yet for the overflow. 😡
I immediately stopped filling and let the water drain down below the overflow, grabbed some towels and began draining half the water so I could slide it away from the wall.
After tightening the unions, I have no leaks... imagine that!

I bought a used Reef Octopus 150 int skimmer. I cleaned it prior to setting up by running it in a bucket of citric acid.
Well... now there are TON of micro bubbles. I'm wondering if it needs to break in again since I did a deep clean.
Any ideas??

Good morning Tim! <tips hat>
Any tasty coffee in your mug this morning sir?
I don't know about Tim but I'm having dunkin coffee with chocolate covered strawberry flavored creamer. It is delicious!

Don't you love it when you do something that makes a mess for you to clean up! Glad that there were no leaks after that though!

Reminds me of the time my ATO didn't work for some reason and just started pumping water into the overflow area. Eventually, it flooded over the top of the tank and shorted out my power supply to the light. Funny part is, it never did that again.

Sounds like what happened to me except the culprit was a snail stuck in the overflow drain...

Grabbed from the grab bag box: Chocolate Covered Peppermint Stick. It's alright.

Likely yes. Citric acid took all the slime coating off everything.

I use an Osmolator ATO plugged into my Hydros XP8 with a level sensor as a backup. My level sensor frequently shuts it off - not sure why.

I eventually moved mine over to my Apex! Although I have similar issues too with my where my apex will turn the sensor off for whatever reason
