Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
My question is do we have to have the baffles in the sump?
Depends. You have to have one baffle minimum (2 would be better) to keep the return section from dictating the level in the main chamber. A baffle at the front end acts as a bubble trap also so that can be helpful.

With that said, you can add a second tank inline and no baffles would be necessary as long as you could keep the critters and such from getting stuck to your return pump.

Sorry for my absence over the past few days. Saturday had my ministry class (only one more left) and was gone the entire day. And yesterday was Sunday which I try to step back from online presence and just have a day to myself (sorry everyone….) but I am here and ready to cause a ruckus with all of you this week!
Ok, then im going to start tagging you in some music this week. I've been in a late 70s early 80s metal mode lately and have been digging up some good old gems.

I tried to have an older metal edition of #Smorgasbordafterdark last week. It didn't go over so well. In fairness though, I was the only one up that night lol

I had a busy weekend there is an update on my build thread. And I'm getting more corals and fish this week. Then I think I am done adding new things for a while, unless of course the Enablers Team here persuade me to get more... 😆
That reminds me, Amanda. I have to show you my latest Jewel Lagoon order when I get it finalized!

Well if it's a good sale I can get more for my money so it just makes sense to buy more... ROFL Next month is Mother's Day, my birthday and my wedding anniversary so hopefully I will get money as gifts. 😆
It only took two posts to get you back in purchase mode!

Henry! Love it!
My two new yellow coris are Laverne and Shirley. My Tomini tang is Squigy and the Foxface is Lenny. Oh, the mated pair of clowns are Bob and Marley! 🤣
You need a Leopard Wrasse named Frank Defazio!

No need to apologize for taking time for you and your family away from social media!
Speak for yourself brother. :)

Im furious about it. :)

Love it! My clowns are Bonnie and Clyde, my choc tang is Charlie, my scooter blenny is Maude, my clown goby is Doug, and my Leopard Wrasse is Esmeralda, fox face is Bubba, serpent starfish is Stan, cleaner wrasse is Oscar, royal gamma is Fabio. The rest in still working on names for. 😆
By far the best collection of names on the Smorgasbord

I have two baffles but didn't know if i could remove the first one to give more room...

You can, technically. The first acts as a bubble trap of sorts, the last keeps the level more or less stationary in the middle chamber.

So I could technically have one bigger first section then the baffle before the return pump section?

Yeah. People run sumps with a single large chamber and a return chamber all the time. Other people run basically a pond setup with no baffles also.

Without the first baffle you're more likely to end up with bubbles getting into the display.
