Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
Flower does suit a well since it was found in the flowers
Yeah, when she text me she was distraught... so I called her and said to leave them there until I get home. She kept texting saying the one (that lived) was trying to follow her even though it's eyes were closed. I finally told her to pick it up. The rest is history... we are now rescuing a bunny!

Good morning! I’m just waking up here in the sunshine state!

(Slept in on a day off… I’m sure it sounds amazing, until I mention that I have a dentist appt in 2 hrs!)
The Sunshine State? You come to Florida to see your dentist?

what flowers? Poppy?
Am I detecting some form of a drug reference?

That looks like a really interesting product. I didn't realize it was today it is being released. I was thinking about buying it but got a bit of a gut punch from our HVAC guy yesterday so probably nothing new for the next six or seven years. Makes me wish I was still contracting, I could just work harder for a while. Now, it's I need to live longer.
Uh oh! What happened with the HVAC?

It would definitely be more reasonably priced!

On another note, a local reefing buddy just texted me… apparently his 6-7 month old Hygger heater was in the process of cooking his tank today… 88 degrees and climbing…

Yeah, we got hit with requiring a new furnace not long ago as well. the heat exchanger filled with water and quit. Years before that the AC went out for the hottest heatwave we've had. Mouse crawled between the capacity and something else and fried. that I think was $2000 for a new compressor and install.

Yeah, that battery backup gets released tomorrow. must be so everyone can spend their tax return on it. It's nice at 3" thick to slide against a wall or behind a fish tank etc...I sent them questioning if it required manual restart but they never responded back.

Oh my gosh those are so pretty!!! I just want all your corals my friend!
That wouldnt hurt my feelings at all. You'd probably have them looking even better Amanda!

Did you guys know that scooter blend bury themselves at night? Nothing i read about then said they did that. First time I seen Mabel covered in white I thought oh my gosh something is wrong with her! Then she moved some and the sand fell off. Lol this is from this morning when she emerged from sleep.
They do this every night. Some times you can see them partially buried

Probably nothing as, you know technicians/salesmen can sometimes overplay an issue but I've got some deciding to do.

Yesterday we had our annual AC inspection.

Backstory:

Year before last the technician said we were down to 73% R22 in our Lenox AC. He did offer the R22 was still available but insanely expensive and sent us estimates for replacement units (5 ton). We blew it off.

Last year, different technician, said AC was great and one of the 'good ones' much better than most of the affordable new units. We celebrated.

Current:

This year yet another technician. Unit is now leaking and needs to be replaced. Something about two readings should be at about the same level but one is really high and one is really low. Paid to have them leak check the system. He said there is a micro-leak in the condenser coil and maybe another one somewhere. I asked what percentage we were at (figuring I could gauge how fast it was leaking) he didn't know.

I can get R22 for about $175 per gallon and he thinks we may be three or four gallons low but that we could burst the coil recharging it. To me three or four gallons loss in eighteen years is no big whoop. Got a new, much higher, set of replacement estimates for much lesser systems.

Have to decide whether to blow them off again. Buy a gallon or two to bring it back up closer to full and see what happens or buy into the newer, less well-built, systems. If we go that route I need to stick around an extra ten years or so, not that I'm in a hurry to go away.

In the meantime the AC is working great but then it's only been 100 degrees a few days so far this year.

I do see green patina around some of the areas so I'm not disputing there may be a leak just how long we can go before replacement. In eighteen years we've replaced the fan motor once and the blower capacitor twice. Other than that zero issues. I can't say the same for a lot of our neighbors on newer units.

Kicking off the music this morning for Smorgasbord daytime lol

My wife sang this to both of my boys when they were babies. It definitely holds a special place in my heart for sure

If it does auto-reset, it would be great for tank.
