Additional Aquarium Information

What do you think are the keys to your success in reefing?
Patience
While I appreciate the thought, that would be a hard NO!

I have never tried them. Very pretty

I admit to having the house in quarantine setups several times. But without corals. And never tested for anything toxic. Fish seemed fine.
Sunsation Magnolia is what it's called. they are large and yellow. The other one is Magnolia Butterflies.

@Calmwaters while picking up fish food at Petco today and standing in line, this caught my eye from a distance. had to go over and take a pic. I think this would look great in your Tuesday Tank!

That is hilarious!!! Gives a new meaning to fish taco...

I know @Calmwaters is running an Orphek natura, I was looking at a starting point of 16 inches above water line on my 40B, My adjustability is based on maximum and minimum, so I think 12 inch min. would be to close. I think I could push it 20 inch maximum. I may need to talk to folks who use this light. Its going over a softy tank, but want to limit light bleed outside of the tank

Could you make a shield for the light to help with light bleed?

its possible, using black acrylic, I have some left. AI says to mount 14 to 18 inches, so i figure my 16 inch height should work

I would have to measure but just eyeballing it I think mine is around 14 inches above the tank.

Trying not bore everyone, but just wanted to share. The extruded can easily hold the weight, the weakness will be joining vertical to horizontal. So i decided to overkill the connection.

Will have inside connections

Also will have outside support over the inside support

I'm am off work Monday for Memorial Day and Wednesday is our anniversary so I took it and Tuesday off as well so that will give me 5 days in a row off work. Not sure what we are doing other than going to the eye doctor on our anniversary but I'm looking forward to the time off work even if all I do is stay home. 😆
Stay home and talk to us ?

Jimmy, I know you said it but I don't remember, did you say you are using 40mm extrusions?

Just for reference I have two 30mm extrusions using one corner brace each (like the ones in your top photo) that hold up a Meridian 35 and two Edge 35 lights. They used to hold up a 30mm cross-brace, two AI Blade 39s and three AI Prime 16 HDs. There has never been any sag.

This looks like a bedroom furniture mattress frame. Is that where you got the inspiration ?
