I want to give a shout out to a food for our tanks.

TLDR: Avast's Reef Jerky is good eats.

A few months ago I bought an Avast Plank Mini to have in case we actually go somewhere. When I bought it, I also bought a small pouch of their Reef Jerky to try out. It is freeze-dried so a little bit of a challenge to feed unless you have Avast's Plank with the fancy feed tube.

Anyway, we feed it to our tanks twice a day. In the morning feeding it is mixed in a cup with a cube of Hikari frozen Mysis and in the evening it is mixed with a cube of either Hikari Spirulina Mysis or Spirulina Brine. The Pintail Wrasse went nuts for it immediately. The Reef Jerky, and the baby brine shrimp, were all all Springer Damsels would eat for a long time.

It took a while but we've noticed that all of the fish just look better since we've started feeding the Reef Jerky and they all start swarming under the feed cup for the morning and evening feedings, especially the Yellow Wrasse. In fact the Yellow Wrasse used to sleep in until around 10:30-11:00 am but now it is up by 9:00 and is the first one under the cup for the 10:00 am feeding. It just swims slow circles under the cup until the Reef Jerky shows up.

Is a feed tube needed? I have one for my feeder but I never install it.

Since it's freeze-dried, it will float on the surface for quite a while. The Plank uses a pump-driven feed tube to mix it. The Plank Mini comes with a feed ring to keep it contained while the fish pick at it or it absorbs enough moisture to start to sink. I would not just throw it in but if you have a feed ring or tube it should work fine. We pre-mix it with our frozen but I can also just set the feeder on top of our feed cup to dispense it but it takes a long time because our feed cup doesn't allow the fish to peck it from the surface. I'm going to 3d print a feed cup/ring to use when we go away.

Yes. It's dehydrated so it floats and takes a little bit of time to rehydrate enough that it doesn't just immediately get skimmed through the weirs.

So I am watching the very inexperienced tree guys cutting down the Cypress trees that burned on 7/4.
They rebuilt the fence before falling the trees.
Second one would have hit my truck but the fence stopped it.
Guy is pulling on the tree as the other stands on the fence and cuts it. Hes pulling it directly at my house.
If no one gets hurt it will be a miracle.
All this with a 12" saw.
