so ive decided on a 100mm macro and i found 2 of them on craigslist for basically the same exact price. but one of them says made in germany and the other in japan. is it possible one of thse is a duplicate and not actually produced by canon? ive never seen a canon lens made in germany?

A google search (you did this already, right? :)) indicates Canon lenses are primarily manufactured in Japan with some cheaper ones from Taiwan.
one has printed germany and the other japan. @icecool2 yeh i know thats why im curious. usually when something is a knock off its made in china or japan or some **** but canon is made in japan so why would one be made in germany.. just seems off to me. i obviously want the german one since if it was actuallly made there then possibly better build quality... but it also may be fake. noone has ran into this?
