So i have an extra tank and some other things laying around and thought that I could build a frag/grow out tank. I was going to use a HOB filter with my choice of media, and then i was going to build an over flow type area. In that area, im curious as to how much of pressure a 1 inch drain would create. Was interested in using it for a form of extra flow for my lower tray. Any POSITIVE input is appreciated, just be nice as it is a limited budget/space/parts build.

if money wasnt too much a factor, i would say an MP10, some eggcrate and a small hang on skimmer would do this set up nicely, unless youre tying this to your main system?

otherwise, a koralia aimed under the egg crate would work as a lower cost option.

I don't even have a mp10 in my main tank lol. Well it will have egg crates, just can't draw them in lol. There will be a power head on top and then hoping my idea of a drain to makeshift flow will work. I may have to put a hang on back. I'm very anal about having to much in the tank itself.

Well the tank has been cleaned. Waiting for payday lol. Since my gf doesnt like her light she got, think 2 par38 bulbs on this frag tank would be bad? I would hang them high off.
