Hello friends, it's the 11-year anniversary of our natural sun-lit reef tank. It has been one bumpy ride. Thanks so much for the continued support through the years. I can safely say my experiment using natural sunlight to light my reef has been a success! Please enjoy a few pictures of the reef!

Also please follow along on my reef tank build page as well.

Happy reefing!

In memory of my loving wife, Kelly!

This is incredible! I love the idea and I'm sure the fish and coral do too!
Would love to do this myself but don't think my upstairs neighbors would appreciate a tube running through their living room
Could be a problem, but then again you will never know unless you ask.

i cant think

This is part of the ocean at another level! It looks like the exact same thing you’d see whilst diving out on the reefs. Absolutely stunning :)

I bet when taking photos you aren’t struggling with the blue light overpowering everything else.

Thanks so much! When my wife and I were designing how we wanted the system to look we decided to replicate our trips diving & snorkeling in the Caribbean.

Picture taking is pretty easy, intensity does need to be brought down a bit during peak daylight times otherwise everything will get washed out without making serious adjustments to white balance and brightness.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
