Were you able to get captive bred invertebrates other than clams? I haven't had much luck find them even though many of the snails breed fine in my tanks and urchins have been used for studying early development of fertilized embryos for decades (spawned and fertilized in lab settings).

I have been able to get Peppermint Shrimp, Banded Trochus Snails and Cerith Snails from them. They are also culturing the Variegated Sea Urchin as well but they were too small so I nabbed a few from my friend in our HBOI Aquaculture Department.

I love aquacultured fish and corals, and love what they mean for the sustainability of the hobby. I also love ORA and the care they put into their livestock. I've had nothing but great experiences with them. This will be a beautiful tank!

I agree 100%! The more things we can buy for our aquariums that are aquacultured, the closer we move towards sustainability. I personally am so happy to see so many businesses who work to aquaculture coral and I hope that moving forward more people will begin to try raising popular fish species as well. I’m very glad that you enjoy what we have so far and I can’t wait to get some acros in here and really let it take off!

I just wish they'd open a gift shop selling their corals directly lol. I live literally in the same county but have to pay shipping! Even the local stores mark ora stuff up to what it would cost to order online. Also the plastic plugs are a huge PITA lol.

I’ve often thought that myself, but I’m sure they have their reasons. I think that makes this build even more fun for me! As for the plugs I’m debating clipping the acros off before I mount them when it comes time to add them to the tank. The corals I have in their now mounted just fine with the plugs but I may wanted something a bit cleaner for the top of my rock work.

I just don't like clipping corals after they start to encrust.. much like other vendors they use plugs that suck for my.i wish more vendors would use flat disks.

I’m the same way, I really hate to clip a frag that’s already encrusted so I usually don’t. I think frag plugs are designed with the grower in mind so I definitely understand why they use them. It can’t be easy to keep so many frags upright and from touching one another.

Got our first ORA acropora for our display a few weeks ago. They have settled in nicely and will be trying to get some good pictures with our new camera within a week or so depending on my schedule.

This is awesome! I've always thought it would be cool to do a build with all ORA corals and fish. Everything looks great. Can't wait to see this mature into big colonies!
